Surely, with one minute to go, the Derby players should have been closing down as if there lives depended, instead of throwing the towel in, and saying, yes, you go ahead, and score, if you want to. 'And bl--dy Waghorn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am absolutely certain that none of the players thought that.

I know your right, not being awkward  but on days like this we NEED someone to blame. Give us that least

its Roundheads and Cavaliers .. to quote 1066 and all that

Cavaliers = wrong but romantic

Roundheads = right but replulsive

That’s the problem with us lot.... and society in general, we always need someone to blame.

Rooney got it wrong from 70 minutes onwards today, just my opinion of course - irrespective of what you all think of the officiating (didn’t see a lot wrong apart from granted and seeing it again, Sibley incident) but we had defending to do and that was criminal at the end by us.

We deserved a point, but let’s not hide the fact we were out on our feet at 70 and better, fresher outlets were needed. Especially with Tuesday in mind.

Gone from perfect game management to not so in 2 games..... we are harder to beat and applaud Rooney for that, but we need to keep backing up wins now.....

I would rather replace Waghorn. I never really rated him as a long term solution. Just misses too many clear cut opportunities but better on the wing.

waghorn is okay but that is the problem, he is not a striker and he is not a winger. he, like many of our players just linger from position to position and dont specialise in anything.

When we were playing Cocu-ball, both Lawrence and Waggy were bloody rubbish bar his 2 freekick goals. It took Lawrence to be injured to get him out of the team and we have looked better without. Waggy to be fair played okay the last couple of games out wide, he is certainly no striker but this today is for me the end for him, get rid, neither him or Lawrence are going to get us into the Premiership and that is how the side should be built, for the future.

I said it to my mates before the win at Millwall, as soon as we replace Wisdom, Waghorn and Lawrence with (intelligent) players we will win games and climb the table. All three are prone to making regular mistakes in games that cost the team more than they deliver. All three have had plenty of opportunities, but unfortunately their cons outweigh their pros.

I was more frustrated with Waghorn today minutes before he was sent off when he failed to defend, he tried to track back and got in Bryne's way and their player easily got down the bar line and created a great chance that a better team than PNE would have taken.

Some of our fans will continue to defend Waghorn because he scores the odd goal but unfortunately we need more than that from our so called experienced players, especially giving away cheap possession, giving away cheap free kicks, giving the ref a simple decision to produce a red card again, and not many of us were actually surprised by his lousy tackle that put his team in a difficult position. Then he has the audacity to walk off shrugging his shoulders not understanding the fact that he has made the mistake, he doesn't need to dive in, simply stand up, jockey and turn their player around and stay on the pitch and if he hasn't grasped that part of the game yet then unfortunately he, the team and some of us supporters are always going to struggle to support him.

Wisdom played well again today and I hope with Waghorn now missing and Lawrence out, he can prove that I'm way off the mark with my observations, as I would rather defend Derby p!ayers than go against them.

You can’t criticise the players for a lack of effort today, that’s a ridiculous take. They put in a monumental shift, considering we only had 10 men for 70 minutes, and we were up against a total bamford of a referee. And it worked, we kept Preston at bay for the full length of time that the game was meant to be played. Our friend Mr Bond just decided to carry on until his Preston team scored instead - it wasn’t our players performances which were “disgusting”.

That said, there is a point to be made with all these late goals being conceded. It definitely is a massive problem - I think someone said we’ve now dropped 17 points in the last 15 minutes of games. If that stat is true, then that’s absolutely shocking. It’s not a lack of effort, it’s a lack of bottle and the mental strength to see a game out. And that really is concerning - those are exactly the sorts of traits you associate with a relegation threatened side. If we get better at seeing games out, we will be safe. If we don’t... then we’re in serious serious danger.

If the ref needs to add on, say 5 minutes and 30 seconds, the figure shown at 90 minutes is 5. In theory, 5 would be the number for anything between 5:00 and 5:59. Add on the quite significant time it took for our substitution to take place and the goal came well within the possible time frame.

That’s a fair point. ?

No James, “1066 and all that”  was a satirical book about British history written some time ago, by WG Sellar and  RJ Yeatman it’s is well worth a read.

it is an amusing study of power and the whys and wherefores of Britain through time as it grew to be “top nation” from 1066 onwards -  and its subsequent decline.

PS I am aware of the English civil war, just in case you were in doubt ?

I pointed to that against Swansea as well, but to be honest there was nothing on the bench today bar Sibley who should have had a free kick, Bird who's Butterfield light and the invisible man Ibe whose played 15 minutes without touching the ball in 5 weeks as a sub.

That's the issue.  Possibly he could have utilised Forsyth with a few minutes to go to shore up the defence/ midfield and secure the point.
