Based on the Mac appointment, I think it signals a manager who will be taking their first step in the number one role.

Probably Rooney, possibly Terry or Rosenior. Nobody else on the list would really require the assistance that McClaren has been brought in to provide.

Then the problem is other experienced managers are eying up possible premiership jobs tomorrow’s night result may make things reach a urgent conclusion.

I have not heard anything about Big Sam as yet but some say he has the job.
