Who exactly is CKR meant to be holding the ball up for? As if there's no one moving into forward positions to receive a flick or knock down or layoff then he's just pissing in the wind

You've just highlighted the lack of experience / tactical savvy of the current management . Unfortunately, just like the inadequate squad of players, we also lack quality in the coaching set up. Not a criticism, just an observation on where we are.

Who are they missing to do what you suggest then?

Four or five fresh faces in the playing squad (at least one of the four/five should know how to put the ball in the net). Preferably players with a fair bit of championship experience. An experienced management team also with championship experience, reputable enough to be able to bring in decent players who want to play for them.

I realise the above scenario is unlikely to materialise. It's just a opinion on a potential way forward.

his form has been poor but if you look at the footage from training it suggests he still has a hamstring niggle   I don't think he has properly recovered from last season's injury

He makes Marriott look superfit! Lol.

I’d like us to go 4312, the 3 mids, Bilek, Knight and Sibley, rotate Lawrence, Joz and Ibe behind kazim and Stretton/Waggers. Give us a lot more of an attacking threat, can always drop Bilek or Bird into a defensive mid for the better teams away from home.

The biggest issue isn’t CKR, it’s more of the second point you made.

Jason Knight is great. However, his main attributes are energy, tenacity and arriving late. He’s the epitome of a box to box midfielder. He shouldn’t be playing behind the striker. It’s restrictive for him and you’re losing half the attributes he excels at. Furthermore, he doesn’t possess what you need as a number 10.

A number 10 should have the ability to pick a pass with good vision, the potential to drop a shoulder and get a shot away. He just doesn’t have that. He wants to go close down the nearest man and run beyond.

We need Knight alongside Bielik, allowing you to pick a 3 in front of a combination of Jozwiak, Lawrence, Ibe, Sibley, Waghorn etc.

Think the search for a new manager should start a little closer to home. Very insightful appraisal
