This is based on the fact that away from home against a top 6 team we are expected to win?

Or just that you have to continue along the same lines even though it was clear today was a different game. If only we had a decent striker up top.

Hit the nail on the head. We need a striker, Waghorn will get one goal in about 5 attempts in a match. Lawrence has never been prolific. Can't call Marriott back until January and apparently he's got a calf injury that will keep him out for approx 6 weeks. With 9 games to play until the January window, we can only start with what we've got. Kazim-Richards is not a prolific scorer=so not the answer. So we need to gamble with Whittaker, Hector-Ingram and Stretton and hope one of them can step up and deliver the goods.

Don't recall CM ever being prolific, it's more about what the striker offers the team rather than just goal stats.

Pre Cocu and post Cocu, the lack of a decent striker is killing us. It’s got to be worth giving one or two of the young lads an opportunity now.
So, we couldn’t afford to keep Chris Martin and couldn’t afford to buy Serdar Dursun?......not the best of decisions! It was obvious then and even more so now. Season-changing decisions, possibly worse.

We are the lowest goalscorers in the top 4 Leagues in England. Thats why we sit on the bottom of the Championship, if you don't score, you don't win. How prolific do you want a player to be. Alan Shearer scored 1 goal in 1.9 games, even the great Kevin Hector was 1 goal in 2.3 games through out his career. We have scored 5 goals in 12 league games, if we had a striker that got 1 goal in 3 he would be on 4 goals at this stage of the season. With goals from others we would be in a better position than what we are currently. Barring the Blackburn game where they had 23 efforts on goal and scored 4, we have lost most games by the odd goal. WE NEED A STRIKER THAT IS PROLIFIC, even if he scores only 1 in 3 it would make a big difference.
