Wasn't he a specialist first team coach focused on how individuals improve their game? I remember when Max Lowe had to fill in at right back and in an interview Lowe said that Rosenior had some targeted training sessions with him as he also had to do a similar job before.

First team coaches aren't the "big picture" type. They're given limited and specific jobs, like fitness, technique, opposition set up, set pieces etc.

Rosenior wouldn't have anything to do with tactics apart from the last game where he switched us to a back 4 so it's not right to judge him on previous results.

Won't stop several of us doing it, though...

How do we know if he is any good or not? None of us are on the training pitch or in the dressing room.

Our performances. How many games since he's been here have any of us said wow, we tactically outwitted them..

The supposed most informed guy on this league, should have led to a few examples.

The next 3-4 games are his opportunity. After that..

To look at it from another perspective, if his input doesn't affect the league table (directly or indirectly), why are we employing him?

We're not saying that his input doesn't affect our position in the league table.

We're saying that our opinion on his input shouldn't be affected by our position in the league table. In fact, we shouldn't have an opinion on his input at all, unless he comes out publicly and says what suggestions he's been making to the manager.

Unless you have some evidence that his tactical input has driven what is done on the pitch, you're just doing a guiliani here.

Yawn. The onus is on him not anyone else. I for one thought he was a real good acquisition. Friends who support other Championship clubs some of which he's played for and think he's a top class professional,  are all saying the same things, looks like a dud unfortunately.

David Marshall is poo because we're bottom of the league.

Jason Knight is poo because we're bottom of the league.

The effing groundsman is poo because we're bottom of the league.

No one is saying any of these things or anything like this. Get better arguments ?

Except the onus is NOT on him. It's on you. You've brought the criticism of his ability / performance but have based it on what? Our league position? It's nonsense. What is your reasoning? Give us your working out.

I gave it already. He's potentially got a handful of games to show us something directly now.

Don't hold back, by your reasoning we should be pointing the finger at Justin Walker, Wayne Rooney, Shay Given and Gary Bowyer. They all must be poo by association.

Maybe so. But Mel didn't let them go. Comes across as though the Dutch Duo were very authoritarian and stubborn. Mel might like what the rest have had to say and now's their biggest opportunity. He'll be establishing who is a good talker, who is a real leader, etc. Wanting to see some variation.

There's only one out of them all who is set for some kind of role and that's Rooney. The new owners and manager might come in and say no to the rest, got to be a clean slate.

Exactly - some posters criticising when they haven't a clue what his input has been.

Think that’s fair but by the same token those saying he should be kept on or considered for manager are working from the same clueless position
