Day Posted November 17, 2020 Share Posted November 17, 2020 Remember when we wasn’t scoring and Kevin Phillips was a coach at the club? He took the full blame for that, and I would expect Rosenior will be held responsible for the position we’re in now. In fairness he I publicly held his hands up, didn’t want to distance himself from what has gone on. How much of our position is to blame on him we’ll never know as much of his work is done behind closed doors. Clearly knows what he’s talking about though, when we appointed him I saw many fans on social media slightly envious. RadioactiveWaste Posted November 17, 2020 Share Posted November 17, 2020 It's a bit hard to know from outside just how much good or bad he was doing. I think he was held in good regard at his previous club. Always speaks well and is considered well liked i believe, but he's been part of the coaching set up since last summer and it's not really gone well. I'm leaning towards the new broom if I'm honest, but I'm sure someone will give him a shot at it soon. Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy enough if new manager wants to keep him. This however is perhaps part of a wider problem across many industries and walks of life. Rosenior and many others get overly praised/talked up before they’ve achieved any real track record whilst individuals with track records who tend to speak less eloquently or appear a bit dusty are written off very quickly. This makes you think he was held less accountable in MM eyes for the current results so probably had minor influence on how we set up etc. For that reason, I would say we have not seen enough to say he can’t coach. MACKWORTHRAM Posted November 17, 2020 Share Posted November 17, 2020 Jury's still out for me. I can't sit here and say he's a bad coach or a good coach. I'm not on the training ground so I don't know. I don't like his interviews or how he comes across at all. Talks a good game. Literally says everything you'd want to hear. But unfortunately none of it really has any substance because we continue to not perform. Every interview he does sounds like he's reading off a script. Hasselbaink tipped Derby to beat Villa , Rosenior didn't choose ..the third member chose Villa ( perhaps that's why I can't remember him ) ... So if we start climbing the league table now, and Rosenior is doing nothing differently, will he still be a bad coach or become a good coach. I believe his specialist area was to help the younger players transition from the youth teams to the first team, his job description definitely said something along them lines when he was appointed. How would you say he has done if this is his jon remit? If we don't fit enough I would have thought that was more the fault of our fitness coach (Shane Nicholson) than Liam Rosenior. He is accountable for his own performance but without knowing what he is doing and what the players think of his methods its pretty hard to hang our current position on him, in my opinion.
