When you don't need to google the name.
When you already know the legend, from your very own memories.
When the news hits you like a kick in the guts, even though he had absolutely no affiliation to the club you support.

Then you just know... 'Tis a sad day indeed.

This one really hurts. He was my first football idol as a kid. I loved him. I wanted and tried to be a great goalie which was a bit challenging as a four feet tall goalie. 

RIP Ray Clemence, you are always going to be the ONE as a goalkeeper.

He was a great goalkeeper, there’s no doubt about that. 
I thought Liverpool sold him too soon.

Truly World class ,and apparently a nice bloke. Continued in football long after his playing days with the FA, and coaching. One of my schoolboy heroes and as good a goal keeper as any in the modern game.

Condolences to his family and friends.

A true Legend.
