Definitely not happening according to whispers coming out of the middle East.

If the deal is dependant on repayment of a holding loan over a few years, these blokes aren't heavy investors by the sound of it. I would suggest if our current chairman is not willing to take the hit and fund that loan himself it probably isn't a cut and dried takeover with cash up front.

We may not be missing out on much.

We may not be missing out on much, but we'd be left in a situation where our owner has rolled all of his dice, is actively looking to sell up & (perfectly understandably) won't / doesn't want to throw much more money away on us.

It could be worse (far worse) but it's far from ideal

Consortium

This is a great family game, especially for Christmas

One player is nominated as 'the fan' ,and he has to do the guessing, the others are 'the Consortium'

The Fan states his football club, and each member of the Consortium writes down  the length of time (in weeks) the announcement of the deal being done will take.

The members of the Consortium sit in a line in time of announcement order.

If the Fan does not guess exactly how many weeks, he has lost.

As an extra part to the game, he has to eat 52 mince pies ('points') in 46 minutes ('matches') to avoid relegation. Relegation means he has to sit outside for the rest of Christmas Day evening in the cold, with no friends. (Outside is called 'League One').

If any of the Consortium feel sorry for him as he sits in the cold, they can shout 'Allardyce!' and he can come back into the warm.

So...

Parlour games... banned!
Potentially sharing pens/notepads... Frowned upon!
Sitting in a line... Breach of social distancing regulations!
Finger food... Jesus Bloody Christ!
Shouting... discouraged, at the very least.

If this is Christmas in your house, then you should hang your head in shame!
It's families like yours... something, something... bloody disgrace... etc... may as well go on a shooting spree... something, something... super spreader... etc...  Where was granny through all this... blah, blah, blah...

It's on course to be completed before Christmas. Don't worry. - This is a very complicated takeover, with all the outstanding loans and Mel's creative accounting making it a lot more complicated.

No information has been released due to both parties signing NDA's.

BZG don't want a repeat of the failed Newcastle takeover, where all the information was publicized, so all information is being kept private.

Hold ups will most likely be the loans that Mel took out.

But for now it hasn't collapsed. And I highly doubt it will. BZG were hugely disappointed and embarrassed when the Newcastle takeover fell through.

Their intentions are genuine, and I can guarantee their plans for the future of Derby County are very exciting.

Keep the faith.
