Why are we so short of batsmen? I’m not blaming Dal, it’s just that he isn’t very good! Godleman will have good innings as will the others but Dal just seems well short of county cricket standard from the, admittedly, little that I have seen. jimbo jones Posted April 8, 2021 Author Share Posted April 8, 2021 Perhaps at 37 he doesn’t feel he can bat that high up, and 5 is better for him now. I don’t know to be honest. We are stacked with bowlers and all rounders, but only have 3 specialist batsmen. It’s crazy, but been that way for a while. We rely far too heavily on Madsen & Du Plooy and hope the all rounders can do enough in support. If we fail at the top of the order it’s usually a disaster. The pitch is starting to misbehave quite a bit, if we can still bowl them out without them getting too far ahead, it will be an interesting last 2 days. jimbo jones Posted April 10, 2021 Author Share Posted April 10, 2021 Excellent morning with the ball, bowled them out for 221, Critchley and Cohen with 2 a piece, Reece got the ball rolling with the wicket of Bresnan. 32 behind, the wickets been tricky from the start, and with uneven bounce.
