I've picked out 2 salient points in your post. I can see a style of play and it's an unattractive, dour, rigid one with no end product.

And the last point you make is absurd as it's impossible to prove or disprove so why even state it - of course unless its to add fake substance to your weak argument.

Opinions, opinions. You’re unfortunately not able to see past the mistakes and some of the results. You’d have been the same person calling for Jokanovic to go at Fulham if you supported them and Farke at Norwich. This style of football we are going for demands specialists in certain positions until Mitrovic/Pukki came in to those teams they struggled in the lower middle table bracket.
Some times it just takes one player to link things together and suddenly you go from poor to unplayable. We had some of that with Rooney last year but unfortunately we didn’t have the forwards to keep us going.

"our fans as a collective" means all fans , or perhaps you didn't mean what you posted.. And in any case I don't get the same impression from the part of the ground where my season ticket is.

Well that's nice for you then ?

I see what I see along with everyone else and then form a balanced opinion from there. I don't allow the impediment of rose tinted glasses to cloud my judgement.

As soon as someone mentions Farke in their argument then it quite quickly devalues anything that they're trying to convey.

Great, I provide you with points and you reply with a rose tinted glassed cliche.

Did Farke manage promotion? Yes I do believe he did.

Honestly, look if you don't like him you don't like him don't pretend you're balanced. He's not managed to get us promoted in the first season with 46 wins and 46 clean sheets, so he's got to go! I can't believe he didn't manage that? I mean it was the easiest season we've ever had with the loads of money to spend and nothing out of the ordinary happened! Let's sack him and get...???

You are exactly the type of fan I was talking about in my post. Quite clearly see Derby as a divine right to promotion, without putting in the hard yards.

Some interesting lines in today's press conference...

I'm sure people from the COCU IN and COCU OUT will take different things from this, but...it's not ideal is it? Not the way I had hoped we'd start his second season in charge, that's for sure.

The points I made have gone completely over your head so let's leave it here.

What seems to be quite clear to you about the type of fan I am is in fact your opinion and am quite happy to correct you now - I don't think we have a divine right for promotion and have never progressed that opinion.

Least we're clear now.

I'll wade in with my tuppenth worth first. Those comments imply that there are players in the squad who aren't taking things seriously and a group meeting was organised to thrash out personal differences and to get things off chests. Sounds like discontent in the camp.

Happy to listen to other posters take on that.

Yeah I took it as partially that also

The interesting comment is that he will demand more from the players and the players demand more of the coaching staff. That to me comes out that everything’s just a bit “meh” at the club, flat, sterile etc

surely Cocu should have set his stall out from day one and put in place his demands and requirements , and never budged on that?

Squad meetings happen a lot I would imagine. Perhaps there is unrest, perhaps not. But I see a manager taking steps to solve it not just saying my way or the highway.

I also see it is a manager who gives a crap about this club.

Tossing a coin will give you a 51-49 ratio towards the side you have facing up when you toss it. If you spin a coin it is more likely to land on tails than heads as the heads side of the coin is slightly heavier than the tails side.

impressive GIF

I really like you, rynny. You're a top fella.

Just the appropriate response to this particular post would be offensive to you.

I'm torn, you know

FWIW I interpreted it not as players not taking stuff seriously, more that there was a lack of individual and collective ownership of the possible solutions - the inference being in the comment "...sitting and waiting...".

Sounds like a constructive conversation to have, if the junior players are waiting for the senior players to show them the way, the senior players are waiting for instructions from the coach, the coach is waiting for the team to try something so they can give feedback........

But let us see how we go on Saturday.

I imagine they do too but its concerning that Cocu has had to call a heart to heart, clear the air,  type of meeting at this stage of the season and says something is wrong, whether its players or coaches, with successful teams this all lines up.

I'm hoping the younger players are listening rather than maybe being swayed by the more established pro's if there is discontent.......Rooney's influence will be important in these type of meetings

This manager does care as was evident in his interview after the Blackburn game, whether we see an improvement remains to be seen, Cocu made errors in his team selection for me but managers do that....what is not excusable is seeing players not closing the opposition down and not running and tackling with intent, watching it again there really are some poor performances but before they scored we were looking like the better side.

It doesn't matter if you're Cocu in or out though what we all want is for players to give 100 per cent and to follow what the DCFC manager ( whoever that is ) has worked on in training .......he said the other week we need to move it quicker and be braver on the ball and I've heard people mention how slow it has been on here and I'm sure this is not what the players are being told so hopefully we will see improvements...............a manager will only  be a success if the players do the fundamentals of what we all expect as fans..... when meetings start happening and they are mentioned  publicly then usually it ends up one way....the manager is on a slippery slope unfortunately....we shall see

To me it looks like staff and players are unhappy with the way things are panning out and they wanted to get it sorted.

Hopefully the staff have voiced their concerns regarding tempo and movement from the players and the players have voiced their concerns about some of the tactics and being given a chance to form partnerships with other players rather than changing the team each match.

I just hope they all told Sibley to shoot more whenever he's near the 18 yard box.

I think it's good to see some accountability from the management team and the players.

It shows that as fans we were totally justified in expressing concerns about performances, results, and how pre season and the transfer window has transpired.

Clearly it wasn't being negative or unreasonable to expect better, because Cocu's comments suggest that both players and management should expect better from themselves and that they have not been performing at the right standard and there's no time for excuses.

Hopefully the team meeting has helped and hopefully we see a response from the team. Not necessarily a win, not necessarily even a draw, because Norwich are formidable opposition. But it would be encouraging to see the players show some fight, show some intent, and leave everything on the pitch even if it amounts to a losing effort.

For me, the best and most heartening performance we have seen under Cocu was Charlton at home. Winning against the odds having played with 10 men for 70 minutes, it showed a lot.

No-one is expecting us to win every game, but lying down and accepting defeat is not going to win anyone over. You have to try and overcome your circumstances, no matter how difficult they might be.
