Simples ? Not much chance of both of them being on the pitch at the same time I am afraid

Top class use of subs not withstanding injuries is the key to progress this season. Subs bench improving by the day. Good competition for all places except ST and LB now. Sixty minutes of pressure then three subs to rub it in.

gccrowdpleaser
Preston have now signed ex Derby striker Jakobsen for 1.2m so suspect they're not in the market for Davis anymore. Maybe that leaves us in for him or Villa aren't letting him out as they only have Watkins and Traore fit. Samantha gone and Wesley cruciate. Can see this going to the 16th. Maybe something will move now Villa are put of the cup. Can also see is getting him as well as one of our targets like Dursun

It's kind of how football works..... No one would ever have said that Aleksandr Prijovic was right for our first team but he ended up playing in the champs league and no one would have seen that happening! There's no guarantee he's actually going to be any good.... Typically he will probably score 20 goals for Preston but he might be a totally different player to the 17yr old we let go Bit harsh to beat the club with this when it happens everywhere

We appear to have misjudged this individuals ability/ potential maybe.

Its not having a culture of giving young players a chance due to bloated squads and and short term planning and targets. Clough and now Cocu use long term planning and absolute dogs abuse because of it. The smart play is to extend young players contracts a bit longer and send them out on loan. Like Chelsea do...and get dog's abuse for it.

When you are hemorrhaging wages on players that can't even get on the bench at that time, like Bent, Olsson and Pearce were unable to, there has been be drastic cost cutting done. At that time he was probably 20th in line to get on the bench just to watch. Extending his contract was possibly an unavoidable gamble the club took. Just the same as with Vernam and Guy etc. Times are hard, they have been since Clement's spending spree and Rush's generous and long contracts. Blame Anya for bleeding the club dry. May Contain Nuts
If it makes anyone feel better we got £1m or thereabouts for Luke Thomas, and I doubt he's going to be setting the league alight any time soon.

If he's banged in loads of goals in the Championship then maybe we let him go too early. If he's hardly got on the scoresheet and has looked a poor buy then maybe we made the right decision. They may have massively overpaid for him; we don't know at this stage, and neither do they. Let's see how this plays out.
