Here is the issue and some facts.

In Holland they play to a system from around the age of 7. Same system all through the age groups. Play calm, control possesion, move the opposition around , play from the back. It was born from the amazing Cruyff team of 1970s.

By the time a player is good enough to turn pro in Eredivisie he is well versed and comfortable in the system. Cocu himself as a player a classic example.

Well. This is the championship in English football, with a bunch of players not versed in the way Dutch football does it!!

Cocu did really well in his home country, then goes to manage and try this in Turkey. Lasts only months... then he tries it in English football and its not working here either. These players cant do it. Its not their fault.

In fact can you name me one really succesful Dutch manager in English football?

Maclaren?

Why wouldn't we?

What would Clarke have done differently for any of the goals?

We were passing it just fine before they scored and we collapsed, with Wisdom playing some good balls.

Concentration ?

reading the game ?

organsiation?

a willingness and desire to keep the ball out of the back of our net ?

big mike is clearly finding his feet and looks so far out of his depth it’s untrue

wisdom looks like a pudding with glue on his boots

so yes I think he’d have helped us deal better with the situation

Buchanan takes a solid 15 seconds or so to take a throw, only for it to immediately go out for another one in the same place. He then throws this one quickly to Wisdom who gives it straight to Blackburn and Buchanan gives away a FK.

Hope Rooney's contract doesn't have some weird clause it in that he has to play every game. We should drop him, he's not the future, If he's not influencing games we may as well build the team around a longer term player.

I though this too.

He’s being carried and carried in a critical position.
