I'm sure it does happen, but I'd guess most young footballers would prefer to be footballers first, and coaches second. As an example, I know Bucko used to coach the age groups at Mansfield while also being a contracted player, so it is possible to combine the roles. We've gone from not producing a centre-back in years, to having Solomon, Cashin and Rutt all coming through at once (I know only Solomon played, but the other 2 are class as well)! It's great to see. Think you're doing yourself down personally..you've always got an opinion worth reading ?
