Was more to do with the finances of any possible deal rather than it being specifically to do with Martin. You cant say we should offer x more money rather than try and sign y, if you dont know what either x or y would want in terms of wages or any potential signing on fees. Isn't about time we changed the whole scout infrastructure after how much we have lost on paid out transfers to how much get resale we have to give them away. It seems sensible to you signing a 31 year old who's never managed more than a 10 goal season at this level and spent most of his career much below the Championship and also isn't the type of player known for progressive football?? But let’s remember Martin (sorry to bring up again), Buxton et al - hardly glittering careers when we signed them, so who knows. I agree hardly a potential signing to get bums on seat, but maybe the market we are in sadly. Our scouts really ought to get pass Dover though, I’ll tell you that!
