They told me that Bryson was leaving at the end of the season to join Celtic, which never happened. I was there when Jim received a call telling him Bryson wasnt playing, Jim received a message from his daughter which simply read "McClaren is a banker" that was when I found out the two didnt get on. 2) a good friend did some work at Rowetts house just before we beat Hull 5-0 in the August. Rowett told him that Johnny Russell wanted to leave Derby, he had fallen out of love with footy, didnt get on with any of the remaining players and didnt socialise with them on team outings etc. Rowett also said he really rated Mason Bennett. Was assured by a former boss whose son worked for the solicitors that serve dcfc that dean saunders was going back as coach when Nigel clough Was about to be appointed. They were even working on the contracts apparently. Never happened. There was some blather about it falling through at the last minute, but I don’t believe it now. Then we ferret about in the bargain basket for freebie's or one's that no else either want's or fancies. As the minutes tick away we someone wakes up to the fact we can't sign anyone after today. Mad rush, get anyone, How much, does'n't matter get him. Any good does'n't matter get him. Do we need him, doesn't matter get him. Have got enough. Great. Phew Thanks goodness that's over. One colleagues son is an ex pro, who played with Commons during his career, and his mum told me Commons had signed about a month before it was announced. The son has retired now but I also got regular gossip during his career, and scathing details on a former manager. Another ex pro who played alongside the son and has a thing for his mum, is a good source of gossip - but usually about off field antics. Her former managers son went to school with Rowett's kid, and they were friendly, and also her (very wealthy) window cleaner is friends with Burton's Ben Robinson. A randomer at the gym who obviously knows a lot more than he lets on will confirm things but only if you get close, he was a good source for Mac gossip.
