Can't refuse unless he's signed a pro deal. Considering his age I doubt that's the case.
Being Cat 1 rather than 2 only means more money. If a player wants to leave and a club is willing to pay the compensation then there's nothing we can do.

He's Kellan's little brother, isn't he? 

He’s not going to united, they’re interested in him but so are a couple of other clubs. He’s been offered a pro contract at Derby but doesn’t want to stay.

Silly if he does leave, we’re clearly his best route to first team football of all the cat 1 teams with the possible exceptions of Arsenal and Everton who, in fairness, seem to do an impressive job of promoting youth even at such a high level

It was for Stretton and Gordon who scored 7 of those 11 goals

There were some injuries mentioned on the U18s v Cardiff U18s commentary last night but not what the injuries actually were. Does anybody know about the following please?

• Andres Perez de Gracia returned after a 16-17 month injury lay-off - what was injury?
• Bartosz Cybulski recently returned from injury - what was injury?
• Alex Matthews out injured - what with?
• Dylan Williams got injured in training on Tuesday, what is injury?

Well Derby County can improve their chances of him signing a pro deal with us by avoiding relegation to League One.

Going to league 1 would probably vastly improve academy players chances of breaking through tbh but maybe it’s not much of an incentive if your ceiling is as high as Gordon’s

I'm expecting him to move up to the U23s in the New Year, and get a few first team games under his belt once out Championship status is retained... as long as he's planning to stay with us.

He's still only 16, so has to be managed carefully. We've put a number of 16 year old into the first team over the years and they've suffered from injuries as a result (Holmes, Barnes, Bennett,etc...)

What's the point though do you think, if as suggested he's off to Manure?

Because we still want our ex academy players to go on to have a good career.

Yeah, but unless it means extra money coming to us I'd rather, in this situation, bring through other youngsters.
