To he fair to forest they've had a good academy for a while, so giving it the bells and whistles of cat 1 probably makes sense.

Can't see why we wouldn't retain our cat 1 status. It's probably the only good thing at DCFC right now.

We'll retain as long as we dont drop down a league. It needs to start seeing a few more returns on the investment though if we want a reason to keep it.

One produced 20 years ago and the other 10. Hmmm.

Perhaps we should abandon league status and concentrate on the u23s. Winning everything before us at a youth level. Selling them for a profit, turn PP into a music venue.   Sounds like a plan to me

Forest academy better than ours by a long way regardless of Cat. status.

More successful, but better at this moment in time.

Sibely, Bird, Buchanan and Knight currently in our first team.

A lot expected from Gordon and Delap now at Liverpool and Man City (the latter part of the first team next season).

Hendrick, Bogle and Lowe all in the PL this season, whilst Hughes will be back there next year.

The production line of players ready to step up from the U23s.

There's also the group of youngsters who were snapped up by Man Untied in January.

Sibley can’t get a game. Bird can’t kick a ball properly. Buchanan is mocked by significant numbers on here. Knight already burned out and ready to drop down the leagues to find his level.

Guarantee that Gordon and Delap won’t be any better than Mason Bennett.

Hendrick is a success story. Lowe can’t get a game and we purchased Bogle!

Our academy has been the consistent positive coming from the club over the past 20 years. It's up for debate whether the purpose of the academy is to produce a constant flow of players for the first team or players who can be sold for big money that keeps the club going.

Forests ticks both boxes really. It has probably brought in £70/80m in revenue over that time and has produced loads of players for the first team. Worrall will be the next one sold I imagine. Or Mighten.

Over the last 6/7 years alone we've produced and then sold Bamford, Appiah, Brereton, Burke, Osborn, Cash, Darlow and Lascelles. And then you add in the golden generation of the late 90s, early 00s and it's one of the most prolific academies in the country this century.
