Poor again. We seem to have reverted to type. We win the toss and fail spectacularly to capitalise and having dominated the first teat, we now look favourites to lose the last three and with them, the series. Too many batsmen playing T20 cricket in a test match IMO.

Doesn’t look good but don’t give up yet. If we can get them out for 250 or less this could be a belter.

we just need one of Bess or Leach to get into a groove tomorrow. Or Root of course

(On the other hand it might be clear by close of play tomorrow that we’ve lost the series...)

Bess's confidence is completely gone. He shouldn't be bowling.

Trouble is, we don't have many options.

We chose to go in with four bowlers plus Root.

It's 38 degrees so the fast bowlers can't bowl a lot.

We have to hope that Bess somehow finds a wicket to get his confidence back.

I wouldn't have picked him anyway as I think he's massively overrated.

Different game at 151/7 if the umpires call went our way on Pant before tea (Bess bowling). Clearly we've been outplayed for the majority of this series but it's fair to say that the majority of umpire calls have gone India's way too.
