This is a challenging time for us all, and across the country food banks are working hard to maintain the provision of emergency food to those in crisis.

With donations to Derby City Mission food bank being reduced, and an increase in demand, we know that you, our members will share our belief that those who have the least resources to cope with the Covid-19 crisis must not be forgotten at this time.

Many families across the county may be forced to rely on food banks for the first time this year, with businesses either closing down or laying off staff.

If you can, even if it's just the cost of a pie and a pint or even a match ticket, please donate and help us put a meal on a families table tonight.

Brilliant effort from everyone who has donated and well done @David for putting this on the forum.

Any Government of a rich country like ours should be totally ashamed of themselves that some people have to rely on food banks to survive. The very presence of food banks proves that the government has failed in the most basic way to look after its citizens.

It should be against the law for any government to allow its people to suffer poverty. There's enough to go round so its a choice to let people starve.

This seems to me to be a very political point, and not sure why it is allowed to have remained up. You keep that red flag flying though Uttox.

Being an ar5e, my £9.63 (deliberately) took it up to £999.99!

Glad to say someone else has now took it over the line.

Well done all.

?

*Ignore what the main page says (currently £990)... click on "DONATE" and it shows the true figure (Currently £1,010.19).
