6k a week. !!! How can anyone survive on getting paid the average yearly salary in 4 weeks. .  All those on a zero hour contract who have no employment for the next four months and all those laid off from bar jobs and restaurants tomorrow should take a look at themselves and stop moaning.

I've seen a lot of people taking the piss out of this salary cap in a similar manner to yourself. I think it's pretty boring.

Look at the millions of people within the UK alone who would love to be a Footballer. Then take into account how many of these players in the Premier League and Championship are actually from the UK. These guys have put the ground work in to get where they today, and if each week 30,000+ people want to pay £30+ to watch them play football, then why shouldn't they earn as much as they do?!

If those people on zero hour contracts showed 10% of the dedication footballers must have made, they probably wouldn't be on zero hour contracts.

Suggest you get your head out your arse so you can see the bigger picture.  I spent a lot of time around professional footballers and I promise dedication isn't an essential pre requisite for them all, some are just good at what they do naturally like most job's. Do you think most people want to pay £30 plus to watch a game- I doubt it.

Your last sentence by the way is horrifically obtuse and more. A lot of people do zero hour contracts due to mental health issues meaning they cannot cope with a full weeks work having been  very dedicated to a career in the past .  I know a gardener who work's under this kind of contract three days a week who has a Physics degree for example and used to work in the MOD.

I would also suggest someone working on a zero hour contract at the hospital cleaning wards at the moment is pretty dedicated.

Sweeping generationisation. Have you considered in that response that a percentage of people on zero contract hours choose to be on then and also another percentage find it difficult to hold down employment with regular in parentheses working hours.

You also cast the aspertion that they are lazy hence why they are on zero contract hours jobs which again is another inappropriate generalisation.

Hear Hear - I’ve been one of those on a zero hour contract for around 5 of the last 6 years - luckily now I have a full time job with a company I’m lucky to be at.

Worked some awful and horrific jobs for minimum wage - not because I wanted to, but because I had to. 50-60 hour weeks so my kids and wife didn’t go without. Did I moan or complain? No, I got my head down as I could see the bigger picture. I got help when I needed it. I got my leg back up.

Totally agree with you on this

This is why the world is going to poo. People aren't even allowed to suggest that £6000 a week is more than enough for footballers, even dare i say it still too much.

Some people are way too busy passionately defending the pay of footballers who should have huge savings accounts, yet are indifferent to people on the verge of bankruptcy who dare to carry on going to work to make ends meet.

I'm losing patience with a lot of people. Why do some people deserve more than others? Whether you're a cleaner, a shop worker or pro athlete, why is one more important than the other. We all want to survive.

Possibly the most stupid and offensive post I have seen for a very long time.

I don’t blame the players, if someone offered me £6,000+ a week I certainly wouldn’t turn it down but, exactly what sort of ground work are you suggesting they have put in and does it justify such large wages?

As for you comment about people on zero hours contracts, I don’t know where to start. That is just offensive and ignorant in equal measures. You really should be ashamed of yourself.

I think you’ve misread this - it’s not about who deserves more.

"These guys have out the groundwork in to get where they are today". Implying that since footballers work so much harder than most people, they deserve their thousands and why should people complain.

Dont think I've misread anything thanks.

No matter if someone struggles with mental health and is not mentally strong enough to want to chase the high flying careers, why are they not as important? Or even someone happy enough to stock shelves or clean hospital wards. Why is is accepted that of course they should get paid not just less but massively so? And when they complain at the gap between how they are losing their jobs and how athletes are holed up in mansions with full cupboards and money, theyre in the wrong.

Totally agree and a lack of understanding of zero hour contracts, consultants use them all of the time with contractors so they can be badged as part of their company and not a contractor. I as a contractor where the work has dried up due to the virus get nowt from the government where my brother as an employee would get paid 80% of his wage.

anyway cannot wait for the football to continue
