v Manchester United (H) - Matchday Thread

I told you we'd win.

We move on to the FA Cup where the Rams come up against Premier League opposition again, this time in the fifth round.

Manchester United, no less, for the 29th season in a row. They've found some form (and some goals) recently so it's going to be a tougher test than anticipated.

But the players will be up for it, the fans are up for it, the game will be at capacity and Pride Park is going to be rocking under the lights.

Can we pull off an upset? You bet we can.

Because we're going to win this one. Quote me, screenshot me, @ me.

Looking forward to this, a full stadium, first time this year, nothing to lose, fans behind us, Rooney first against them, since being back from America, everything for me is pointing to a famous Rams win, same team that started against Wednesday for me. Can not wait tell Thursday night now.

Drop Martin.... Three assists against Wednesday... For Marriott who has been outscored by young Knight already this season?

No chance.

Cripes, I know we may have p&s issues but surely we can afford a bench.

Some pretty cute deals in IKEA....no need for home made....or Holmes made ?

Thanks both, I’ll take the replies as we aren’t sure whether he’s fit or not! ?

VdM senior (who's a season ticket holder who'll be at the game) thinks not. But that's not itk info I hasten to add.

Me, I know nothing hence the tongue in cheek replies. Have to cover my inadequacy in a cocoon of poor wit....?

I'd be interested to see what team United put out, but I'd certainly expect their strongest team out. I think I'd look to pack the defence with as much pace as we can as they have a lot of it in attacking areas, but their lack of midfield mobility does play into our favour. I can understand the reason for picking Marriott over Martin, considering that the CBs are excellent when man marking, but struggle with a bit of pace.

I expect it to be a competitive game with a free hit for our young players to put themselves in the public eye. Rooney will take all the focus naturally.

Apologies too for my poor attempt at humour. If I was to hazard a guess at a serious answer then I'd say it would be very doubtful if he'll be fit. I reckon he won't be fit again for another few weeks yet but that's just me guessing from what's already been released about his injury.
