In theory i doubt it is, but going to work you are  there to do a job. Going to the pub and the main aim, well for me anyway, is to socialise.

Therefore you have 50 odd people, often in the space of a large house, communal toilets and after a few beers forgetting about what you are supposed and not supposed to do. I will caveat that, these are my local pubs, I know a lot of the people in there, so maybe it's different to pubs that don't have regulars as such.

Can only go by my local.

Tables distanced, perspex screens up, no bar service.

Good point, I remember now. Still odd that people from the mainland, who were in at least tier 2, would bother travelling to Isle of Wight where they still wouldn't be able to socialise indoors with anyone else.

I guess they must have just been mixing with locals outdoors in December whilst socially distancing in groups 6 or less? That must have been how the virus spread over the Isle of Wight right? We can't believe the article as there are no photographs of people breaking the rules verified by independent witnesses.

Does that fit your narrative of a) the government have clearly communicated the rules of lockdown (even if you don't always support them) and they are easy to follow, hence need no proper enforcement is needed; and b) blaming people for breaking rules is just the media looking to pick on people?

Apologies if this is not your opinion, but this is what I've taken from your posts over these Covid times.

No you're right, it is people having a drink that spread the virus.

Pure coincidence that cases started to rise when schools went back in September.

In fact it was probably kids bringing their homework back at night that was forcing parents to go to the pub and get completely bladdered that caused it.

Ive been very critical of the Government, other than early on when people were pretending not to understand simple rules, just as a stick to beat them with.

Not sure that you have definitely said it but Im pretty sure you will have referenced Farage and his ilk of demonising people and using divide and conquer techniques, but it appears you don't want to apply the same standards now...

Good read. Worth 5 minutes of your time.

Small extract:

“We are in a no-win situation. The trade-offs are horrible. And so, when confronted by someone who tells you that’s it’s all fake, that the hospitals are empty and the test doesn’t work and the disease is basically harmless and the government is lying, who wouldn’t want to believe it? What could be more appealing than the idea that the thing we hate is causing the problem we’re trying to solve?”

Some 1.5 million children under 18 will either need new or additional mental health support as a result of the pandemic. A third of those are new cases, according to the Centre for Mental Health.

It's horrifying the damage it has done, and will continue to do in the future, at least until it's under control.

I don't know what you mean by stop being ignorant but I guess you mean this is a plandemic or a scamdemic?

I don't agree with that, I think the pandemic is being seen as an opportunity to change by progressives e.g like after WW11 but much of it is hot air coming out of politicians arses and grand ideas coming from global organisations who have little to no input in day to day decisions. I'd welcome some change towards sustainability because its necessary but all of that stuff about auto uber drivers is nonsense I'm not worried about that toss, hopefully I am correct on this but I think alot of the more radical ideas or simply over optimistic naive ideas that in reality won't happen on a significant scale or have major impacts e.g mass job loss from automation.

The part about you will have no possessions and be happy about it  from the world economic forum is concerning beyond belief, but I just think its naivety from their part thinking that people won't be concerned about that and its somehow a moral good to think that way and be anti materialist. Trust me if I was made to give away my possessions and many others would be the same, it wouldn't end well for the people trying to implement that sort of coercion. I doubt anyone could be that stupid to assume that people will happily give things up, but as I say it's just naive optimism nothing to be scared of imo. Also has nothing to do with the cause of the pandemic either.

10 new mass vaccination centres opening to go with the seven we already have.

17 therefore will be operational.... and not on in the East Midlands!

Yes, I noticed that. Maybe it is because we have good GP coverage in our area? I know of two GP hubs in Derbyshire within 10 miles of me.

Although there was talk of the Velodrome in Derby being a mass vaccination centre and it's not on this list.

Yes the GP’s of Derby got together and decided themselves to make the Velodrome the central hub. Makes complete sense however I guess it isn’t regarded as a big enough hub and won’t get the attention like the others will. There were rumours this week Derby ran out of Doses. Just rumours I would add and certainly not substantiated anywhere.

Thx for posting. So, I watched it because I always like to see the 2 sides of a given story, and hopefully be a little less ignorant. Altogether reasonably well put together, they try to cover several issues, big tech, vaccines, freedom, government control and the links between them. However, I always go back to the same question,   what are their solutions ?

I really don't know what you are on about here. Isle of Wight was in Tier 1 in early December and had suffered very little from Covid.

The situation rapidly got worse in December when a person who lived there reported lots of people travelling across from the mainland from higher tiers.

This seems to me highly selfish behaviour, but also a lack of planning to prevent people doing this.

I imagine reading your posts from early December would show you doubting there was any serious problems with the 2nd wave though, so are unable to comprehend this Isle of Wight tragedy was avoidable.

This is actually pretty hilarious. Literally everything he's posted has been regurgitated on here, everything, typically by a small number of 'regulars' ?

Check out this piece by the Tory party vice chairman, destroying Covid sceptics.

I remember back in Spring when many of the Covid sceptics on here were furious with the media for asking supposedly gotcha questions to our brave leaders.

Will they show the same level of hostility to the Covid sceptic media, whose mis-information they unwittingly helped spread?
