Rev
Quick question, I've just received a text telling me tomorrow will be our last day at work, and we'd spend the next 3 weeks on full pay. Wouldn't it be better to furlough us now, and use the money to give us full pay for 15 weeks once the gov grant kicks in?

Here's a repercussion that would never have crossed my mind. Her daughter works in a rehab clinic in New Jersey and they are getting inundated. The closure of all liquor stores as nonessential has meant hundreds of people going into withdrawal. Then on top of that, the curfew has meant a lot less drugs are being dealt, so more people going into withdrawal for that too. New York decided against closing liquor stores although whether it was to avoid the same thing happening and adding another burden on the hospital.s Spoke to a colleague in Toronto today. Its exactly the same there. And in Ontario, liquor stores are actually owned by the government and Canada has a tax payer funded public health system. Still, the risk to addicts was thought to be too great.

RadioactiveWaste
I have consulted sacred scriptures, and, sadly, I have to bring you all the news, that the almighty in fact did release the Coronavirus in anger upon his children who appeared to be ignoring his wishes regarding the promotion of Leeds Utd. Unless the EFL act immediatly, I fear further punishments from the lord may be inflicted on our earthly souls. I know other theologians have put forward that it was the prospect of Liverpool being Premier League champions, but they are wrong and are heretics. Please donate all you can to the Church of Radioactive Waste Embezzlement Fund, for it is only this that can truly "Bring it home"

Not finished in the top 6 of any division since 1969 and currently top of League 1. ?
Brammie Steve
Handy hint from Littlejohn in the Mail.... With bacterial hand wash difficult to get and priced off the market try using vodka mixed with lemon juice and ice. Drink it mind you, don't waste it on your hands. Helpful advice although being teetotal I thought I'd just pass it on in a spirit (!) of altruism to my fellow Rams fans. Stay strong, stay safe, stay separated.?? The lord moves in mysterious ways, which is why, now more than ever, you must donate to the Church's embezzlement fund. Only though giving me, sorry, the church all that earthly wealth can the blight of Corona beer be overcome.

There are 8 cars parked up there on a warm sunny day. Maximum of 40 people, more likely to be somewhere around 25. Could be 8 people and 10 dogs. Let's assume that those people are being sensible rather than stupid - controversial I know, but there you go - each car has contained people from the same household, so no problem of spreading any virus in the vehicle any different to within the house; they probably haven't all arrived at the same time so they've had plenty of time to disperse over a wide area in the fresh air. No problem there. Whenever they've come across/met people from outside their household group they've maintained at least a 6 foot gap. No problem there. They've travelled back together in their enclosed car to their home at the end of a walk/jog feeling better about themselves ready to work again. Mental health improved. If we're allowed out then let us do so sensibly in wide open spaces keeping our distance. If we're not allowed out then lock us all in but make sure that all the services we need are available for home delivery. Police the stupid ones who can't keep in household groups or 6 feet apart. RamNut
I’ve been out for a couple of long bike rides into the countryside. It was quiet out there yesterday. Not a lot of traffic. A few walkers. Some impressive potholes that will probably kill someone. bar a total lockdown I think that’s as good as it will get.

Many NHS staff are apparently buying bikes to avoid public transport. For those that do feel the need to get out and exercise, cycling is better than walking/jogging/outside gyms etc, as it's much easier to maintain that social distance. Essential workers travelling by private car will still need to keep that car in tip-top condition and legal... bulbs, oil and tyres immediately spring to mind, but of course, much more. I'm all for Halfords and their ilk to remain open, so long as they look after their staff, and said staff are happy/prepared to carry on. I think many were too quick to jump on the bandwagon and slag them off for staying open. Sports Direct was a piss-take though!
