Well, well, well, whaddya know? After playing cobblers at the Cobblers and ducking things up at Luton we put in the performance of the season to stoke the Stokies at PP for the first time in over a decade. Next up is a chance to give our Wayne a chance to put one over his ole mate, so

Pride Park, Tuesday 4 February, 7.45pm kickoff, Rams v Northampton

For those who haven’t yet bought a ticket, surely the performance against Stoke has earned your support at the next game??

Unchanged side for me, everything clicked and no reason why it shouldn’t do so again. Don’t want to get a “TL, DR” so over to you....

Admitted that very scenario myself, in the stoke matchday thread.  I owe them my attendance at least, as a thanks for last nights performance (and result).  I'll pick up a ticket some time Monday.

Sorry I doubted you, Derby County!

                             Roos

Wisdom      Davies (C)    Clarke    Fozzy

                          Shinniesta

            Holmes                  Knight

Bogle                  Martin                Lawrence

Subs- Ravas, Buchanan(If fit), Bird, Sibley, Rooney, Whittaker, Marriott

- Don’t change too much.

- Well earned rests for Bird, Rooney and Waghorn.

- Another chance for Bogle at RW after his belter against Stoke.

Hard one to predict the team.

I think Davies, Marriott, Shinnie and Marriott all start.

Roos

Wisdom

Davies

Clarke

Forsyth

Bird

Shinnie

Holmes

Rooney

Marriott

Martin

But who has the foggiest. I'd like to see Davies and Clarke as they will be playing a lot of long balls and throw ins. The height will be useful.

I'm torn on this one...I want to play the team that just (whupped/mullered/thumped/destroyed/...) beat Stoke, but I also want to give minutes to Sibley, Whittaker, JHI, Roos and Marriott (for differing reasons).

So I think it will come down to fitness, to an extent.

                      Roos

Bogle   Wisdom  Clarke  Malone

            Shinnie  Holmes

Waghorn      Martin      Lawrence

                    Marriott

Roos has back to back clean sheets, lets see how he does at home. We may need him back at some point.

Fozzy talked about how much harder physically full back was and given his injury history, he gets a rest.

Just giving Shinnie match fitness, no reflection on Bird's ability.

Rooney appears to be holding up fine, but all these mid-week games could take there toll.

Subs: Ravas, Buchanan, Bird, Knight, Sibley, Whittaker, JHI.

Swap Rooney for Malone and put Shinnie at LB

Roos will start, Hamer wont be able to play in our next home game as its vs Huddersfield.

As for the rest of the team its difficult to guess, do you make changes to keep players fresh or keep the same team and carry on the momentum.

Personally I think we will make a few changes, Malone Davies Shinnie & Knight will all start imo, along with Roos thats 5 changes. Maybe go for 6 & start Marriott?

Roos - Bogle Wisdom Davies Malone - Shinnie - Knight Rooney Lawrence - Martin Marriott

4132, maybe 442 diamond. No need for 2 sitters at home vs these, we need to go with 2 strikers.

waghorn.       Martin.       Lawrence

win it first - then let Marriott on ( he hasn’t done enough to start ) Shinnie and maybe Holmes or Bogle

we need to be able to head the ball in this game I am afraid

                          Bird

  Knight          Rooney      Shinnie

This would be my choice hopefully Whittaker and Sibley to get some minutes too.

They are only Northampton but I would still put one more outfield player in.
