Contract expires in the summer. This loan could just be a move to secure him on a permanent contract then.

Bang on, this lad will be signed on a free in the summer 100% subject to being good enough lol. Villa were quick to tie him down to a new contract in 2017 with steve bruce in charge so they obviously saw something in him! Good bit of bussiness this if he turns out to be decent.

I know we all wanna sign someone for the first team but this seems good business?

have a good look at him in u23s if he looks as good as our youngsters were first in line to sign him up in the summer and we have a steady player. If he’s crap, he goes and finds himself a new club...

Has this not been formally announced by the club?

Bottom paragraph:

In addition, former Solihull Moors Academy left-back Ethan Sephton, who last season had a trial at Premier League side Burnley, has joined Derby’s Under-23s - while Aston Villa forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has also arrived on loan for the rest of the season and will link up with the Under-23s.
