Derby face another probe..

If they're probing Derby for this then then need to investigate the FA, Premier League, EFL and every football club in the land. Not saying that our sponsorship deals and links with the foundation are right. The intrinsic link between gambling and football is concerning and damaging but to single us out seems a drop in the ocean...

32Red, the online casino who in addition to a long-term sponsorship deal with the club also pay captain Wayne Rooney’s £90,000-a-week wages.

I do hope those wages are not correct.

The only crap here is coming from the Daily Mail.

It is regular practice for drug companies to sponsor and give grants to mental health charities and they seem to have no problem with that.

Daily Mail stirring the pot again.

Someone at the Daily Fail seems to have an agenda against Derby, pity such a classy news rag (PMSL) persists with this, somehow doubt their journalistic standards will improve; on that basis I’ll not bother clicking the link or reading their toilet paper in future.

Maybe other Rams fans should do the same.

duck me it's just getting silly now. Whining because Rooney turned up to the Team Talk event in his club's gear, just like any footballer in the world does when attending events their club has scheduled. I'm sure if he turned up in his own outfit they'd probably write an article saying Rooney can do what he wants and is getting preferential treatment by the club. And I think the moaning about kids having Rooney and 32 on their backs is even more bonkers. They sit in a stadium littered with betting adverts, to watch their idols wearing kits littered with betting ads, against players in kits littered with betting ads, whilst playing in the Sky Bet Championship, but them having a kit with the number 32 on the back is the problem?

No one knows. There was an article last week saying the reports of 32 Red paying part of his wages were wrong and the deal was in fact a 'star player deal,' which involved them giving an additional 1.5 million in sponsorship money, as well as assisting with the community trust programme should we sign a big name player. The same deal was offered to other clubs sponsored by 32 Red but we were the only team to have taken it. Seems as if the media has about as much of a clue about it as anyone on here.

As for the wages, even if those were correct, it's not as bad as it first sounds really. If he's here for his 18 month contract it works out at about 7 million quid in total, which I think is fine for a key player who also brings additional revenue to the club.

If the daily mail is having a dig, you are probably doing something good. A news outlet for closet racists and knuckle draggers.

It’s awful if true.
Championship clubs collectively need to work to get wages under some sort of control.

That isn't happening any time soon whilst parachute payments are still a thing. We've missed out on so many players in recent years to teams with parachute payments who could offer much better contracts than us .... we probably missed out on double figures to Villa alone in the past couple of years and yet here we are, it's us who are potentially facing the punishment for overspending.

I enjoy a thorough probe as much as the next man, but this is getting beyond silly now.

I'd imagine it''s a case of a national rag stoking the flames of another story surrounding crisis club Derby County. I just take solace in the fact that there is absolutely nothing I can do about it, same about the points deduction - we get sent down because we've been deducted stupid points then I'll just look forward to League One. I can't change it - it's a lot better for blood pressure knowing that's the case.

What a load of absolute baalocks. Couldn’t give a frig personally where the money is coming from to fund the mental health programme, so long as it’s legal. And as much as people may disagree with gambling, we’re not “legitimising” it, it’s already legit and legal. The important thing is that we have a community trust holding events like these to help those who need it in the local area. Credit to every club who does so.

I could see the issue if we were advertising gambling etc at such events towards vulnerable people, but simply put, we’re not. The only time there’s been a hint of it is when Rooney turned up in a Derby shirt with 32Red on... but he’s surely there representing the club, not 32 red. As far as I can see, all 32Red have done is support the programme, can’t see anything wrong there. What would we rather happen? Have no mental health talks at all? Bizzare.

Anyway, if there is anything to come of this it won’t affect the footballing side of things I wouldn’t think. The FFP thing is still the major concern. Does seem that the authorities almost want us done for one thing or another though at the minute, they're thinking of anything to investigate us over.

The Daily Mail is a classic example of the tawdry, scandal sheet gutter press that we have masquerading as newspapers in this country. They try to cloak themselves in moral righteousness by claiming to appeal to the middle classes but they are much worse than the Sun and Mirror who at least are honest enough to admit that they are grubby, pernicious, muck raking  propagators of lies and half truths.

If I read in the Mail that it was night time Iwould open my curtains to check.

Rooney is white and British. I just don't understand this paper anymore. It's not like it used to be. In the good old days you could collect tokens to send off for your own swastika.

Now you've got those black foreign types stealing our Prince and the Daily Mail is talking about Derby County.

Bet you can't even trust them to warn us about 50,000 Romanian rapists headed to our shores anymore.

Political correctness gone mad, bruv
