Mason Bennett - Left for Millwall

I don’t rate Bennett but it’s still sad to see one of our young players who’s come through the ranks pull on someone else’s shirt ....this loan move may do him some good and he may come back a better player ...if he comes back ....sad day ?

Good luck to him - disappointing that things haven't gone well for him and injuries haven't helped. However, in all honesty, if he'd been with another club, what he's done in the last couple of seasons when he has played, no way would i want to be looking to sign him.

Not sure if this is still true but remember reading he never managed an entire game for Derby.

Played 90 minutes sometimes but usually subbed in added time.

Be impressed if he manages 10 games for them

In his first two seasons (2011-2013) he made 15 league appearances; there isn't a simple record of his minutes in those games.

Since 2013, he's played a total of minutes in Derby league games equal to 20 games. Not even half a Championship season.

Bennett has a good season in him somewhere, but I have a sneaky feeling it's not quite at Championship level.

How come whenever we decide that a winger is not good enough for our level, they end up signing for a team above us?

Well that’s 2/3 players from the joiners mess gone. Hopefully can start to build a new team with a better attitude now.

Isn't it 2/4?

Least culpable and most impacted sacked, while the idiot who caused the crash is the last man standing.

Think they could all be classed as idiots to be honest, even some of the others with the antics inside the pub. But yes, there’s still one massive elephant in the room. Hopefully we can get shot of Mr “dribble dribble 30 yard shot straight into the defender” come the summer as well.

He’s good enough for an average championship side. The trouble is we wouldn’t get enough money to make it worth our while, because the teams who’d take him couldn’t afford it.

We are an average championship side though...

High earners gone in the last year - Johnson, Thorne, Bryson, Carson, Nugent, Bennett, Keogh, Pearce, Ambrose, Cole, Ollson, Ledley, Butterfield King, McCallister, Thomas, Blackman plus a host of younger players (Elsnik etc)

and the wages for loanees Mount/Wilson/Tomori/Dowell/Paterson

Hamer, Clarke, Forsyth, Huddlestone, Anya, Martin at the end of this season. (presumably Malone, Davies and Zoon with year left on their contracts up for sale)

Shinnie and Bielik bought in for the longer term.

we’re in the middle of a revolution.

You've mentioned a few players in there as high earners that would've been well off it. Bennett's contract was undoubtedly okay, but doubt it was anything ground breaking (less than £10k a week for sure).
