The Cocu out mob be like...

I’m not a Cocu out but I don’t agree with you - he still has a lot to prove in my opinion.

Poor tactics and selection today even though he couldn’t admit it.

Today?  Good in parts dire in parts ,, special mention to knight who is growing game on game and going to be a very good player,

defence can be totaly unpredictable but that’s comes with all the inforced chopping and changing

no scapegoats but here’s my take on Lawrence ,,it’s time to move him on he’s not ever fitted in at Derby and is poor far more than he is decent for us

Marriott needs to be moved on as fast as poss ,he is the player mick Mac had under him not the one we bought from Peterborough,he either can’t or won’t turn out for us with any kind of regularity ,waggy is not the answer and neither is matin if we want to build a promotion team ,

im cocu in but he is a bit of a worry just now as I’m not convinced you can have enough quality players at championship level in your squad to change things up as much as seems to want to and a settled we’ll organised team is far more suited to this level

still a good point today though

Do not agree the starting 11 was fine, and we got a good point away to the inform team, so what would you have done differently, have you got your badges or do you manage a under 11 team, Cocu will get us in great shape, this time next year we will be top 6 or better.

So as someone who regrettably missed all the fun thanks to a kid's party then socialising (a few pints and a few bottles of red wine, so all good), initial thoughts are this was a good result against an in form team.  Anything that says different?

Pathetic response.  Giving the ball away as many times as he has done is sufficient reason for dropping Lawrence  and no great insight is required to spot that. . We might as well watch football with a paper bag over our head a just listen to the commentary if we are not going to form our own opinion of how good a player is. Lawrence can be good if played in certain positions.

Thanks for your input DRBee, I’m just a little confused.

Is it my opinion that anyone declaring our manager’s team selection as rubbish at 2pm, an hour before a ball is kicked in anger, is a bit daft, that you find pathetic?

It’s just that you’ve said we should be allowed to form our own opinions?

I will try to sleep tonight but I am now so worried I am lacking in great insight to as not see what you can see.

No its that you dismiss the opinions of those who disagree with you by  the false claim that it is only the opinions of professional managers that count. Fans are entitled to opinions and these may be valid   -  many of us thought Phil brown was a poor manager , he was poor and he was sacked.

I did not look at the thread until after the game and  the point I made has nothing to do with these premature critics, simply the evaluation on Lawrence.

I found @Ellafella ‘s post to be slightly over the top (“stealing a living”) and so pointed out that three consecutive managers who are all proving, or have proved, themselves to be more than competent have disagreed.

I would accept that my response to the OP was slightly antagonistic but ultimately it is my opinion. I wanted to refute that his “evidence based” opinion that Lawrence is rubbish is no more or less valid than mine, PC’s, FL’s or GR’s (presumed) opinion that Lawrence is a serviceable player at this level.

I’m very sorry you found this pathetic.

Maybe the players seemed demotivated as they were tasked to do the impossible within their capabilities and personal we had out on the pitch

play the ball out from the back against a hard, fresh early press against a well organised workmanlike championship side from the boot of Hamer or davies ?

second half there was a very evident tactical change ... Rooney moves higher up and we went back to front with greater speed and directness

It was very visible, which suggests first half it was a poor  tactical decision to go out and try to play the way we did, pass our way through boro

it must have been demotivating for the players with each broken down move we got ourselves into trouble time and time and time again

not an isolated occasion first half on the road

I suggest it’s tactical not motivational

There is clearly a tactic as to how we want to play, but we didn’t adopt different tactics in the second half, we were just more positive in how we went about it, we passed forward, we didn’t play safe passes we got closer to Boro. The manager doesn’t control the players with a controller or a joystick (showing my age) from the touch line. Players play the game and make the decisions on the pitch.

He picked 'em, should know whether they can do the job. How come they looked better after he'd changed things?

Give it a rest Roy FFS we know you don’t like Cocu....just stop the constant digs...if we win you say it’s luck if we lose it’s Cocus team and selection to blame , if we play badly it’s Cocus bad selection of players if he changes it and it gets better it’s still his fault ....FFS just give it a rest mate

Late to the party. Never a penalty on the highlights, which is really frustrating. Thought Hamer should have saved the opener though he almost got the pen. Feel we need more control of the football and that probably means Martin as the focal point of the attack (with Marriott if fit).

Great point though. Great to score an injury time equalizer, and what a goal too. Let's build on this for the next game.

Coco will never drop Waghorn (45% pass completion rate today) to start  with Martin instead.

In both the last two away league games we have got out of jail with very late equalisers, despite for the bulk of the game (today the first half and the 15 minutes after their pen) not being remotely competitive.
