Safer Gambling 32 Red Wayne Rooney interview

Proud to see a fellow employee I work with conduct the interview with Wayne. Heard Scott’s story a number of times whilst getting ready for my role with Epic Risk Management, the bloke has helped me settle into my job as a Education Facilitator, going around state, private and grammar schools around the country delivering gambling harm education.

Scott had a promising career, started playing in championship with Reading, then various loans etc whilst battling gambling addiction. Went through Sporting Chance and now clean for over 4 years, plays non league now in National League South for Slough Town

Full video was very good and further insight into Rooney, he does speak so well.

As a casual gambler, it’s also good advice, well done for posting it, I’d half expect you to whether he played for us or not.

To be fair, Scott’s a colleague of mine, as we both work for Epic..... it helps us a company as well interviews like this to show what other things we do around gambling harm and who we work with, and who we have in the past. Www.epicriskmanagement.com if anyone’s interested

I do have some understanding for Glendenning's position, ultimately bookies don't give a flying poop about the lives that get ruined. They only care about either it being bad for the brand/industry or the possibility of governments bringing in tighter regulations.

On the other hand, it's there, try to work with what is there. Do that and achieve some more good that your moral integrity might otherwise achieve on it's own.

I don't expect Philip Morris to want to flog fewer fags, WM Grants to want to flog fewer bottles of whiskey either.
