Who now replaces Lawrence.

So no Lawrence for two games so who replaces him......do we bring in Paterson out of the cold or Flo Jo.

Do we start all three of Martin, Marriott and Waghorn we could bring in Sibley but I cannot see us having both him and Knight starting.

I am looking at one game here before the Rooney arrival and possibly others before we play Barnsley.

Scooby or Shaggy?

Greedy, don't really help out and when they do something good it's because they were trying to do their own thing.

Or Inspector Gadget. Very impressive abilities but hasn't got a clue how to do his job most the time and in the end it takes someone else to make him look good?

I'd replace him with Marriott. Put your best 3 forwards on and take the game to the opposition. The bench will have Whitiker on it so you have some cover.

Play to win, play looking forward and tell your midfielders to turn and look to play it forward as often as possible.

No bad call that.

Personally I'd like to see Sibley given a chance. Or, I know this won't go down well, maybe it's time to give Dowell a chance to play his natural position?

If he fails, then I could criticise him as well. At the moment I find all the critic bit unjustified.

And this is why I struggle to understand the Lawrence out mob, now he is out and you start to think about who replaces him our options are a loanee that has been reported to be heading back next month, a player that hasn’t looked anything remotely like the player we signed from Brentford or turn to youth.

What’s the saying, you don’t realise what you have until it’s gone?...

Personally I would take a punt on Jozefzoon, give him the 2 games to put yourself in the shop window speech, just a bit worried about bringing more youth into the team, Lowe at times showed his inexperience yesterday and we don’t want to kill these kids confidence by chucking them all in the deep end together.

IF Paterson is here for the season though and not heading back I would play him, not sure what has gone off but impressed me when he was in the team, almost got in v Forest as soon as he came on if I remember correctly which lifted us a bit.

All this is with 4-3-3 in mind as we don’t have the numbers up top.

What exactly do we have with Lawrence then?

Put literally anyone in his position for one game until Rooney comes in. He hasnt scored for almost 2 months now and he doesnt have any assists all season. He is our most booked player though, so thats something i guess.

Paterson and Josefzoon are obviously options.... but I’d go with Whittaker. He looks to have relay natural talent, and a run of a couple of games in the team could really give him the opportunity to show what he’s about. Potentially one of the former two as well if Waghorn doesn’t pick his form up (one goal gets him a chance, but doesn’t change his poor form).

I don’t think there’s any way that we can start all three of Martin, Marriott and Waghorn, though I would look at giving Marriott one last shot up front over Martin as the latter hasn’t made much impact recently. Sibley isn’t an option out wide for me, and I think we’re doing ok through the middle at the moment so he’ll have to wait his turn. Ditto with Rooney, I think the wide solution will have to be for both games Lawrence is out, and potentially beyond.

0 assists is not surprising when you look at our finishing recently, he is our second top goal scorer and only real outlet. Thought when he came back into the team following the car incident he really lifted his game, playing with his head up creating chances. He’s dropped off again recently and to me he looks like a frustrated player struggling to carry the teams attacking threat by himself.

He needs help in the team but isn’t getting it, but even without a frustrated head down Tom Lawrence, the question is what do we have without him, hoping I’m wrong and someone steps up v Charlton but they are a good team, will be in our faces all game and I really don’t see anyone that can come in and be any kind of outlet for us.
