Ibe was in the middle of a purple patch and Liverpool were poor needing a spark, fans were calling for Ibe to be recalled so it was the easy option for them. Benkovic, it's hardly surprising. He was a 13 million pound signing for them, he is hardly going to want to come and join a relegation scrap, imagine adding relegated to league 1 on his CV. Not worth the risk. Or do you move on and try and sort something else. And if that falls through at least you don't have the whole 'what if...' So many people on here think it's just like Champ manager. Send 2 emails and Bosch...player is in. So many interdependencies on transfers of quality players. All this for a player that absolutely nobody had seen play more than a fee minutes and are only really interested because he cost 13m and he's Croatian. Even Percy said it was pretty much done until that Juventus centre half Leicester were signing got injured. Now we have managed to miss out on him to Bristol City.
