For my sins I live in Nottingham, (forgive me) and I seem to see fairly often, adverts for evenings with former for*st players (Some formal dinners, some Q&As etc in pubs)  I dont seem to hear about similar events with Derby players.  do they happen? is this the best place to look out for them?

I could be wrong, but I think a lot of our ex players attend the dining events at the club, the hospitality packages when attending the games.

There's an evening with Charlie George next year at the Southbank, Nottm.

Mmm...probably not wise for Rams to venture there. I’ve had some hairy moments in my time there when I celebrated Rams’ goals surreptitiously by jumping on the table and singing “sheep $*ag army” whilst twirling my black n white scarf above my head. Very tempted though as it’s Charlie George...?

It's the one in the town centre, not the one on Trent Bridge, if that helps.

Yes , they have one at Pride Park in January, it some surprises in store and some late Christmas gifts. We will score for a change and gift the opposition a goal, as we are the Santa,s of the Championship

I think it’s just nostalgia is an easy sell to the people of Nottingham.

To be slightly more serious Nottingham is a bigger city population wise so has a bit more of a ‘going out’ culture which means events like these will sell along with national theatre tours etc

Derbys smaller but also a lot of your football fan base are spread through the county making it a big commitment for many to get there. Also nights like this are a mixed bag depending on who you get as you need people who can carry a story.

There have been many over the last few years in Derby mainly at pride park but arranged through a third party independent of the club,  Jim smith and Robbie van de laan was a good one, Charlie George, the three kings a few Christmases ago Colin Todd, Roy Mac and igor, then there was dean saunders, mark wright, ted Mcminn, another was Harry redknapp, terry sherringham, graham Richards did one with Steve howard and Seth Johnson, Bobby Davison was another, I normally book a table of ten so will put it on here, don’t think there are any planned just yet though, all great nights, get your photo taken etc
