Doddie Weir. What a man!

I make no apologies for posting this. Just saw it from the BBC Sports personality awards.

My Dad died of MND 2 years ago and to watch him slowly degenerate over 5 years was the hardest thing I have ever encountered. Heaven knows what it was like for him, poor soul.

What Doddie Weir has done with his foundation is truly phenomenal. Thank you and all the very best wishes, Doddie. Inspiration.

Thanks for posting RedSox. Over the years I have drifted from watching SPOTY so would not have seen this. Tremendously moving TV and as you say the foundation work he is doing is inspiring.  So sorry to learn about your personal experience of MND.  Merry Christmas Buddy.

He’s a real gentleman and dauntless in and off the pitch. The rugby family is a tight-knit group and they’ve very much rallied around him but Doddie is hugely inspirational in his own right.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss and I hope seeing the foundation prosper and grow gives you some small measure of comfort.

Thanks.  The sooner this dreadful disease is eradicated, the better.I wouldn't like to see anyone else go through what my Dad had to endure, but sadly, that's the reality until a cure is found.  Much respect to Doddie.
