Of course they’ll be disappointed that they’ve been knocked out of the cups when they were looking so imperious only weeks ago. But the league title is one they’ve been chasing for literal decades now, having to endure United fans taking the piss across all that time. The Champions League pales in comparison until they get the monkey off their back, which they seemingly are going to do. Next season, perhaps their main focus changes. As for a ‘tainted title’ as has been suggested by people who have an irrational hatred for the club, I’m not even going to entertain it. Just pure bitterness. Amazing isn’t It, just saw a brilliant tweet by an Evertonian that can also be adapted for us... potentially Liverpool could get denied the title that they thoroughly deserved and worked really hard for through no fault of their own...well, we could compare notes.... 1989... Compare It to when City won the league with the Augero goal, last minute of the last game of the season, against 10 men to pip your biggest rival to the title when It seemed dead and buried....or, play your last 10 games of the season behind closes doors (or maybe not play them at all) with no victory parade and then sit by and watch your biggest challengers go on and win the FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup... (if they even get to play It of course) I agree it is a piss poor end for them ,but not with your other points such as they have been reliant on VAR and the fact that some games may not get played when they are 25 points clear makes their achievement less impressive. It will be forever be the season “that didn’t get finished” and will take a massive edge off winning the title. VAR has definitely helped them.... Would you consider Leicester's league win to be tainted because Arsenal were in (yet another) season of transition, same for Cit-eh, Liverpool & Man U, Chelsea fell over a cliff, and Spurs were Spurs?? Christ our first 1st Division championship under Sir Brian was won while he had his feet up in the Scilly Isles, is our achievement tainted because Leeds fudged up against Wolves?? Doesn't matter how you win it, as long as you win it.
