Not good news that bogle is missing the entire rest of this block of games... not even training at all yet by the sounds of things. Will have to stick with Lowe at RB and Malone at LB which is far from ideal, but with wisdom and Forsyth out as well there’s no choice.

We knew he’d be out until at least the international break from one of the first post injury interviews from Cocu

I wonder with the lack of Martin playing for the U23s yesterday we might see him start alongside Waggy today?

Marriott still isn't 100% but a two striker formation seemed to work.

Thats what i'd do

we need to find a 2 striker formation in order to accommodate jack when he's fit.

i will be surprised if chris is in the 18 though.

This could be great....or he's off to Ilkeston town ?

Maybe - but regardless we only have Waghorn Marriott and maybe Bennett as centre forwards so we need a fourth one around as we seem to have 2 on the pitch by the second half in most games

For what it’s worth, here’s my thoughts on the team for today.

I vaguely remember Maclaren version 1.0 saying that a balanced team has 5 defenders and 5 attackers, this has always stuck with me.

With this in mind, I would play a 4-1-4-1 formation:

                    Roos

Keogh - Bielik - Clarke - Lowe

                   Evans

Patt’son - Dowell - Shinnie - Law*

                Waghorn

Reasons:

1, We don’t have a right sided wingback, Keogh is our only option to cover. Other ideas (Lowe / Jozefzoon / Holmes) are truly square pegs.

2, Bielik in centre defence, the new Stimac??

3, Lowe did okay the other night, keeps his place at LB

4, Paterson, natural winger, got to have a run in the team, can’t be worse than Zoon

5, Let’s see what Shinnie can do

6, Let’s give Dowell more time, clearly a player somewhere in there

7, Waggy on his own as Marriott not fit to start

*Lawrence

Did we? Didn’t hear that one, I just heard him say 2 games minimum and then we’d assess him further. That’s not to day I wasn’t kinda expecting it, it didn’t look a nice injury.

I think if we had to start Chris Martin, we'd probably more likely do what Bolton did and pull out for player welfare reasons.

You've brown nosed Malone for last 10 months yet slag off the player that has scored more goals for this club than any other player in the last 20 odd years, at any mention of his name. ?‍♂️

Not feeling too positive today after that on Tuesday. Eagerly awaiting 2pm to find out the team to see whether that changes.

Um.......it might be all over by then.

Bielik is wasted at centre half, we lack a Thorne-like dominance in midfield, gaping hole there that he needs to fill. I hope long-term we go with Waggers and Marriott as a front two....

Evans at right back? Has he ever played there? He would be better at centre half with Keogh at right back.....

Doubt we see him start but it could mean we are starting both Mariott and Waghorn and want another forward on the bench.
