Did everyone know Frank de Boer is officially the worst permanent manager in the history of the Premier League as he never won a solitary point in their games in charge of Crystal Palace.

Not sure if he waved his arms around a lot but he sure as well was Dutch.

That is some feat beating Paul Jewell to being the worst Premier League manager in history. Old pornstar Paul will be delighted.

I know purely by the metrics I'm using Jewell did manage a few draws in his time in The Premiership whereas de Boer drew a duck egg

Give the guy a chance ,if you could build a championship winning team in months we would have done it with the previous managers and Mel's  mills £££.

Posters saying no goal scoring options???

Marriott ,Waggers ,Lawrence in Huddersfield mode? Rooney anticipated arrival should all be good enough to create goals.

Cocu obviously  building the team from the back and trying to create defensive strength and pocession football which at present may not be as entertaining or productive as we would like. However Duane,Bogle back in the mix soon, players hopefully start jelling and results will hopefully follow.

But we're not strong in defence, 3 goals conceded last night. 2 against Bristol, 2 against Stoke. Since Huddersfield I've just not seen enough, slightly disappointing.

Oh dear, oh dear

What we need is someone who can relate to the players , demonstrate leadership and knowledge and lead from the front. And inspire their players to go beyond even their own expectations.

Our previous manager had this, and as a result significantly over achieved

Time will tell ( sooner rather than later) if Cocu has the same. Lets hope he does.

Thus far it is really uninspiring and dreary, although of course it is very early days.

Interesting that ‘small’ teams who had even more turmoil than us in the pre season don't seem to be moaning about their  ill luck and are just getting on with it - Swansea, Charlton, Hull, Birmingham , Millwall . And other ‘bigger’ teams with much more turmoil than us are doing the same - Forest, Wednesday.

Try to allow for other viewpoints than you're own, it will really help  you find maturity eventually .have you actually seen florists squad?

sorry i am not getting the posts i want to reply to

Unfair to compere him to De Boer. Read somewhere on another thread what have dutch managers done in england.

I dont thing LGV did that bad at United considering. Rooney said he was the best tactically he had worked with. Also Koeman, Jol & Hiddink weren't that bad

I think because of Cocu's success in Holland a lot of fans thought he would come in and hit the ground running, have instant success and be riding high in the league.Mel 's aim when Cocu was announced as our new manager if you recollect was to bring academy players into the First team which he is doing and doing well IMO, at least with Cocu they are being given the chance and the early signs are encouraging..

We now come to that much loved word "transition", some say we have been in transition with the last Several managers, no we haven't we have been in "continuity" with them because they have all continued to knock on the chairmans door saying i want players in who suit my style of play and look what we have been left with, not the most inspiring of signings. With Cocu it really is a transition period, a period that has been sadly lacking for some time. Cocu knows it's not going to be an easy job,nor does Mel, that's why he has a 4 year contract but i honestly believe with Cocu's previous of working with youngsters will get through this early phase. We have tried before to buy instant success, has it worked, has it hell.

There are people on here who are already moaning after Seven weeks, strewth what will they be like after Seven months, for those saying if we are not top half by christmas he will be gone, what a load of baalocks. I understand concerns and frustrations but get behind MeL, get behind Cocu and hIs assistants but most of all get behind the lads COYRl

Well put, I think Cocu is also struggling to get a first eleven to play how he wants comfortably and with time and perhaps a few additions to the squad things will start to take shape. Would be good to see signs of promise and a bit more of what we saw against Huddersfield though.
