We seem to be leaving 2 players up high at all times, with Girona overloading Batemen at right back. We've had two water breaks so far and the coaching team has been talking to only the midfield, mainly Dowell and Bird, clearly not doing something quite right. Davies hasn’t hit a 5 yard pass right yet, And Bateman is getting shredded. We don’t look particularly impressive, most of these players aren’t good enough/ aren’t ready for the style of football we want to play. A lot of passing it round the back then firing it forward hoping someone can get on the end of it. Nobody willing to take the ball in the middle of the pitch and try to make something happen. Lets hope they improve second half. These are the sort of games where you should have the courage to take the ball and try and prove yourself as youngster. ollycutts1982 Posted July 25, 2019 Share Posted July 25, 2019 Too ponderous for me typified by Buchanan gesturing with his hands for Davies to pass to him quicker only for him to take too much time on the ball and pass straight back to Davies when Lowe has half the pitch in front of him. Sitting too deep and leaving a massive gap between Martin and the midfielders. Need to be more decisive with the ball and get it forward quicker.
