Before the start of last season he was a a fairly unknown quantity who was welcomed with open arms and fingers crossed. Why are we just forgetting that? It's crazy to talk of £20m signings....there are players out there just like he was then, who will be available on loan who will come for a fraction of that fee. Bielek and Clarke are quality signings (assuming done deals), but the fact there seems to be another 2, maybe 3 to come in, who are completely off anyone's radar makes me hope they're something special.....? To be honest I think it's Uncle Mel as much as anything else - It was the same under Lampard and a bit under Rowett - First thing we heard of a player arriving was them showing up on the clubs twitter feed!
