Saiz wanted to go back to Spain and looked certain to be leaving Leeds in the upcoming window. I'd well imagine they were banking on getting a good amount of cash for him, and that would be a large part of their budget for transfers, a bit like us with Vydra this season. It was probably even a done deal that he would go to Getafe permanently next season, but if he's found to have been involved with match fixing he's almost certainly going to get banned from football, and they're going to get nothing for him. Even if he hasn't, no one is going to buy a player that could potentially get banned from playing before they even play a game for the club, so if the investigation goes on long enough it could still harm them even if he's been wrongly accused.
