I don't even think it's that Marriott doesn't try in training, I think it's more that he wants to always practice the things he's good at whilst Lampard wants him to spend training working on things he's not good at-they see him "the player" differently perhaps?

Probably a lot in that

The trouble is that we saw Marriott score a hatful before Xmas, then disappear, and then come back and score some important goals, so we love him right now - but he's in danger of becoming our next Chris Martin - clinical in front of goal, really effective in the right formation and the right game - but if that's all he is, then we'll start to get frustrated with him in the games where he struggles and isn't scoring. Then he'll polarise opinions like CM9 did for so long

It's absolutely right for Frank to want him to work on other aspects of his game - we can't end up a one dimensional team like we were under Steve Mac/CM9

Yes and he scored a very well taken goal at Leeds too. Your point is?

If your point is that he scored and it’s proof that he is fully fit and that he would be banging them in is playing, then I have to disagree.

He came on at a time in the match which suited attacking play and in both he could chase down what he pleased, knowing he had less than an hour on the pitch. Against Leeds in particular, the space opening up suited him a treat.

No my point is he scores goals and goals win games.

If he's (really) not fully fit why not play him and bring him off early (like with Bennett)? Because FL prefers not to.

Bennett is built like a brick privvy and I do wonder if his physique rules him out of playing full matches at the tempo he plays at.

As others have said & with Marriott not fully fit, the tactic of using Bennett to tire out the opposition defence & then replacing him with Marriott seems entirely reasonable to me. The reason it isn't the other way around is probably due to Marriott's superior finishing - to be used later in the game when he's likely to get more opportunities against a tired defence, than Bennett does early on.

Where is Jack Marriott?? I'm seeing social media tributes from all the players - Waghorn, Roos, Hudds, Tomori, Mount... all saying how proud they are of the team, thanking the fans... declaring their love for the Rams!

Where's Jack? Not a peep out of him as far as I've seen...

Putter sock in it will ya! Heard enough of this speculation. Next season Frank will draw the best out of him and these stories will fade away.

(apologies if that came across as rude Parsnip. Just trying to squeeze a pun in)

albatross.

Marriott is a natural finisher end of story.

To play around an hour of a playoff semi and final AND come away with 3 goals is highly impressive, yes we were going for the jugular when he came on but they are high pressure games and to score in the calm and clinical manner that he did shows his talent.

Lets hope he and Frank can sit down and get this sorted and get him working hard in the team again!

We heard that both Marriott and Waghorn were good for 30 minutes only?

What are the odds that Marriott will be off before the start of next season? It might be worth a trip to place a bet on this at the bookies or the casino perhaps?

Yea,perhaps. But no, I'll don't think I'll bother. Especially the casino. Might struggle there. Sometimes you do get free sarnies though so may be worth a visit. Up the ramps
