Blimey. What would that House of Commons look like? Doesn't sound very good for democracy. And sounds terrible for checks on the power of government.

I'm sure if we had a Conservative government with a majority, everything would have worked out fine.

Er...

I see JRM and son needed a police escort tonight in London surrounded by a left wing loony hate mob.  I hope all of you on this forum who have contributed to this hatred are thoroughly ashamed.

Is this what you are referring to? Extract from a loony left publication (the Times).

*************************************************

Andrea Leadsom has said she was subjected to “frightening” abuse today as she and other cabinet ministers were confronted by anti-Brexit protesters.

Jacob Rees-Mogg and Michael Gove were also targeted as they left the Commons following today’s Commons sitting.

Mrs Leadsom, the business secretary, was given a police escort through crowds gathered around parliament for a People’s Vote rally.

Footage posted on social media showed ministers being heckled. Boos and shouts of “shame on you” were directed at Mrs Leadsom as she walked down the street surrounded by officers.

Similarly, demonstrators could be heard shouting “shame” as Mr Rees-Mogg and his young son passed the protesters on London’s Millbank, while police could be heard urging people to leave Mr Gove alone.

How dare protestors use such harsh language?

And if they refuse. Which I now hope they do and we feck off hard style.. I've had it with them.

If we leave with no deal there is a better than good chance I lose my job within a month.

I've got a 9 month old baby and a mortgage to pay. Nice to see brexiteers are still so flippent about something that will have genuinely terrible consequences for a lot of people.

At least we have food banks though, right? Lucky me.

I'm fortunately in a position where financially I'm relatively comfortable but a lot of friends are far from it and have the same uncertain future facing them. Equally, my dad who has been living in the UK for decades earning a very good salary and paying taxes and NICs accordingly may lose his right to be here as may my sister who was born in Paris but was only there a fortnight.

It amazes me how glib many Brexiters are about the plight of so many people whose futures are likely to be thrown into chaos. Not a care in the world as long as they're alright Jack. ducking infuriates me to be honest.

Anyway, I hope you find a remedy for yur own troubles mate or that we come to our senses and try and influence the EU from within rather than isolating ourselves the way seem intent upon.

Best of luck to you. Genuinely hope that the picture does not turn out to be a s bleak as it seems right now.

Why would you lose your job in a month?

I would imagine there will be job losses. My wife works for a transport company, they are currently knee deep in organising different permits and all sorts of paper work for customs and excise which may not even be needed if we don't get a deal. Because we have left it so late again I am sure lots of businesses will be in a similar position, spending money and time for something that might happen or it might not.

When you factor in the extra costs that will be associated for these businesses in a market where profit margins are thin anyway it may be the last straw.

I am no expert, by any means compared with some on here who despite differing opinions do seem to have a reasonable grasp on matters, but how can what BJ did with his communication to the EU  last night be within the requirements of the Law to request a delay?

Sending one letter unsigned which essentially says a delay is requested because we have to, and another essentially saying don't give us on.

The real issue is not the likes of you losing your job with children to bring up. It's the hate campaign been orchestrated on here to boo Mogg whilst he was with his child. You lot make me sick!

Whatever views people have, What  i find astonishing is that for something as important as this they consider those kind of tricks. It is not some kind of Tom and Jerry game, it is the fututre of the country, millions of jobs and most importantly the future of the next generations

But the "British" people just want Brexit done cos they are sick of it. Good, decent people voted overwhelmingly for a no deal Brexit and we must enact their will accordingly. The Remoaner parties make me sick as they have caused it, not the Tory party who had rebels on either side voting against May's deal multiple times. MPs have a duty to vote for something they know will make people worse off because an uninformed and lied too electorate narrowly won a vague vote 3.5 years ago.

I must have missed something, fair enough i don't read this thread page by page as some do but have seen no evidence of a hate campaign against anyone.

Questioning, or disagreeing with what someone is saying or doing is valid, its not a hate campaign.

But just think of all the people who would lose their jobs if we remained!

People lose jobs all the time,, I am just interested why he believes he could lose his.. It’s entirely possible he does work in an area that might be affected but other doors could open.. He might be better off.

The poor lad Mogg Jnr has been born to serve his Queen and country. It might even put him off becoming our future prime minister.

Why would you lose your job in a month?

Because the businesses I work with in Europe have already confirmed they will be switching to local suppliers in the event of a no deal brexit, if that happens I have been told by my firm that it would unfortunately mean redundancy as my job is then essentially redundant.

A real consequence that anyone who supports a no deal brexit just brushes off with "project fear", or I will helpfully be reminded thay I can find another job. Great, I can probably walk in to a local warehouse and pack boxes the day after (absolutrly no dig at that as a job, I've done it myself before) but it's not going to pay my current mortgage and childcare costs.

I'm not going to be alone here, if WTO tarrifs are applied across the board there are a few thousand people in Sunderland are at serious risk as well. Small businesses that operate on fine margins and EU supply lines are at risk.

Real people, real consequences. But yeah, it's all worth the risk because people say I 'might' be better off. Well, I might not and in my current situation with a baby and only a month or two of contingency in savings it's not a risk any sensible person would take.

I'm in a better position than a lot of people and it's still unstable.

So just to confirm, people with young families losing their jobs is not an issue?

What planet are you on?
