So would you say you are with Jeremy Hunt on this one? If successful businesses are wiped out then that's just the way it is because that's what people voted for?

Sterling will devalue more than 10% IMO anyway, which will negate the tariffs imposed by the EU. Silver linings and all that....

Only if all the components that are used in the manufacture of the company concerned's products were available and manufactured within this country (themselves being sourced from raw materials from this country) - good luck with that.

The ramblings of a mad man and I thought Johnson was the biggest clown of the two. It looks as if we'll have a demented fool for a PM, no matter who the tory geriatrics vote for.

I'm pretty sure that the Brexiteers and the Bonkers wing of the Conservative Party are sure that they are, and if not, then if they really wish hard enough, they will be. A bit like 'alternative arrangements' really.

So the madness continues.

Watched conservative MP Dominic Grieve on Newsnight. He stated that a hard brexit would be a disaster for the country. That he along with other tory MPs would stop a no deal brexit. Even if it caused the downfall of the government and the conservative party.

On the same programme Bernard Jenkin MP, who was there as a spokesman for Boris Johnson. Came out with all the usual brexit rhetoric. That good deals could be easily made with other countries using WTO rules. A hard brexit will hurt the EU more than us, that the EU want to negotiate a new deal. All statements that have been previously disproved.

At the same time reiterating that Johnson and his supporters are happy to have a no deal brexit. While admitting that a no deal would not be good for our automobile and agricultural industries.

How can anyone who wants to become our next PM, justifiably support any action, like a hard brexit, that will do irrevocable damage to it's people and it's economy?

What Boris has been doing all along is perfectly logical if his objective is simply to become leader of the Conservatives and PM.  It seems likely that the future of the UK and that of its citizens is of secondary importance to him.

Looked at from that perspective, at least the motive behind why he says the things he says starts to make sense, if not the arguments themselves. You've got to say, it's been working very well for him so far. Objective all but achieved.

It's a form of collective insanity.  Boris wants to be PM, even if it's just for one day.

Do the Conservative party, a party that once prided itself on their morality, no longer have any scruples?

Chris Davies a former tory MP, who was found guilty of expenses fraud and as been convicted of a criminal offence. Subsequently nearly 20% of all Brecon and Rednorshire constituents signed a petition to recall him from office. Causing a by-election to be called

A by-election that comes at a time when the conservatives need every parliamentary vote they can get. What do the fine upstanding, but desperate to win the election, members of the local tory party do? They re-select Chris Davies as their candidate to contest the upcoming election.

It will be interesting to see how many tory voters will still put a x against his name.

Never in the history of the tories has morality got in their way to achieve their self centered goals.

It's like a poker game, where everyone knows you're bluffing. But you still insist on going all in and telling everyone you have a full house. Knowing you're bluffing and you're not going to win.

It's looking like that isn't it? He has spent his entire life believing that his true destiny is to be the British PM

Last week I wasn't sure that he really wanted it ,but the way it's panning out, he knows that if he doesn't get it and Brexit is a disaster - he'll be left stranded as "the guy who said it would all be ok" - and then he'll never be PM

So now, despite the chalice being full of cyanide  - he knows this could be his only chance. Better to be a failed PM than not be PM at all?

I've read a few things recently about potential election fraud in the Peterborough byelection from the Labour party, looks like the Brexit Party have lodged an appeal at the last minute.

Dunno what they will find but why even have a convicted vote-rigger on your 'team' anyway?!?

My message to Farage would be "You lost. Get over it".

It almost seems intentional so they can then vote in a Brexit party candidate...

After announcing his plans for tax cuts for the rich, increased funding for education and the early rollout of a fibre optic broadband network. Johnson couldn't or wouldn't answer where the money was coming from when he was asked. Something that he along with all his tory colleagues accused the Labour party of doing during the last general election. Does Johnson think he's Jeremy Corbyn. Maybe he thinks he's Harry Potter and he can get the Ministry of Magic to monitor the Irish boarder, after he laughably claimed that the Irish boarder problem can be sorted using modern technology. Something that every tech expert as stated, that no such technology exists.

So is Johnson a deluded Walter Mitty character or just a plain and simply Billy Liar?

if only the remainers would!

2 weeks away and nothing's changed. My American friends can't believe we screwed up the negotiation and even the Democrats thought Trump would have done a better job. The Aussies in the group are staggered that after 3 years we're still stuck in. Their view of our politicians is that if their's betrayed the vote like ours are doing they would be invited to do something unpleasant with a Kangaroo! The Hungarian wants us to stay in so they get new roads and bridges.
