Remember seeing the England fans in Holland? Pouring beer on folk on a boat? Chucking bikes in? Cheered on etc, some still condone it and then moan when they are in a bubble at a match being videoed by police etc, weed the idiots out instead of cheering the idiots on But this incident happened despite the fact there is no safe standing. We are talking about a very isolated incident here, certainly not a regular occurrence. It's a society problem, not just a football problem. It happened in Scotland last week and the week before someone threw a glass bottle at a player. Only a month or so ago Chesterfield fans attacked the opposition keeper. Very isolated is maybe once a decade, not several times in a few weeks.

In that time there have probably been 3 or 4 million people that have attended football matches in England and Scotland. 3 incidents, 2 of which I would say are major incidents. I'd say they are very isolated.

jimbo jones
Apart from the one steward who actually got off his arse and got hold of the numpty, the rest there should be taken to task, for letting him on the pitch and the piss poor response once he did. Half are just uni students earning a bit of cash and making up the allocated steward numbers, when you look closely at the actual prevention of this happening, and the staff used in stopping it, it’s inadequate to stop this sort of thing. Sexydadbod
You can’t punish Birmingham as a club. These are isolated incidents. You have idiots at every club but don’t punish Birmingham as a club.
Boycie
We had a fan run on the pitch against Forest a few seasons ago, he shoved someone in the back. Didn’t he get a ban?

Agreed, unless you are going to put fences back up or spend a considerable amount on even more stewards/policing a random nutter will always find a way onto the pitch. Also, whats to stop some deranged, desperate fan doing it at a rivals ground etc? Punishments need to be harsher for the idiots invading the pitch. Some form of investigation (I am led to believe the FA is responsible for this sort of thing) would need to be carried out regarding the club's stewarding policy, the numbers on duty, the training they receive etc.
Anag Ram
Any fan that runs onto the pitch should be given a custodial sentence for trespass, regardless of whether or not they commit a violent act. We live in violent times and people need to recognise the impact of their actions.
AdamRam
Mindless cowardly act of thuggery that reflects poorly on football, easy to say it’s an isolated incident however when fans find it “funny” you have to despair at some of the fans associated to the game. Short arse with a flat cap minces on to the pitch, and throws a punch at Grealish and misses - funny. Short arse mincer with socks rolled down scores, and bags 3 points to put Villa in touch of the play-off places - not funny at all.
