Will appeal it in time for it to be suspended during the summer transfer window...

Pretty much.

Amazing it takes a 3 year investigation which they then issue the punishment for giving them enough time to appeal the decision through the next window.

Almost like they don't want to issue the ban.

If I was Abramovich, be an ideal time to not appeal it, then say to the manager you have to use the Academy, time to start bringing them through and take a year off spending.

You either cut your losses on Sarri (£19m they paid Napoli for his services) and bring someone in to work with their youth players or you appeal it and get Sarri the players he needs to recreate Sarriball.

Interesting to see what they do.

Hmmm...a young manager with a mate as a coach, just starting out, doing OK, and has a link to the club...anyone spring to mind?

Just don't see how they can stick with him now, they held on to Conte for the extra season when the signs were already there things were going wrong, be mad to do the same.

They will appeal it which will then be reduced to one window, January and barely effect them, as they continue to ignore the talent they have under their noses. It's the Chelsea way.

People in football are aware that Sarris style is a non negotiable. He needs a full pre season. He got less than 3 weeks because of them dithering about appointing him.

Hes worked his way up playing stunning football and is capable of making it work. I just think Chelsea went half hearted and it’s backfired.

If, as seems likely, Chelsea appeal but the ban is upheld then if Sarri gets sacked this makes it more difficult to get a 'quality' replacement in, with no new signings until January 2020 - not the best window to bring in high-end players. In the meantime they may well lose Hazard and Hudson-Odoi, further weakening the squad.

They might decide to stick with Sarri in the hope that he will turn things around or go for a young but inexperienced manager e.g. Lampard. Also they may need the likes of Mason Mount to stay with them next season rather than loaning him out.

All supposition of course but if the charge sticks this could be a huge factor in Chelsea's short and medium term future.

If I were connected to the investigation, I'd rule out a visit to Salisbury cathedral on my holidays (it's just not that impressive)

I'd steer clear of knobs as well if I were you.........

....just saying, mind....😂
