That's because Bogle was playing right sided centre half and Holmes right wing back.

When sheffield united play this system, they allow one centre back to overlap and go wherever. It causes chaos.

He was in total control of the whole game vs Hull only to be dropped vs ipswich when we really needed him.

This. Absolutely this.

I’d go as far as to say that his passing against Hull was exceptional. Admittedly we don’t get to see him in the training ground to judge how much 90 minutes takes out of him, but jeez, the guy is 32. He’s not exactly a veteran. How exhausting can it be to occupy one spot in the middle of the pitch for the entire game and spray the ball around to teammates in all corners.

So why was he so poor v brighton and Millwall after having the benefit of a rest?

Yep. Needs a lot of training ground work to play that way though. At times the RWB & LWB fill in for the overlapping CB's, and at other times it's one of the midfielders.

Sheff Utd are the only team ive ever seen play this way... they're bloomin' entertaining to watch that's for sure!
