eddie
Steady today. Lost the toss at Bristol and were inserted by the home side. The latest is that Derbyshire are 230-5.
jimbo jones
Been a consistent run of good partnerships. Shame Lace didn’t go on to get a ton, but he’s looking pretty good. Just hope Middlesex don’t want him back any time soon.
jimbo jones
Critchley just gone, which is a shame.
eddie
256-7 at stumps. Pretty decent after having been inserted, but as with last week, we really need to see both sides have a dig before drawing any conclusion about the batting performance. jimbo jones
291 all out. Would have been nice to get to the extra batting point. Over to the bowlers.

jimbo jones
Gloucestershire close on 202-5, seems fairly even, but we need to make early inroads tomorrow as our last wickets went in a hurry.
eddie
Unless Gloucestershire take early wickets tomorrow, a draw seems to be the likeliest result. Derbyshire end day 3 on 97-2, which is a lead of 38. Tom Lace is on 48, to go with his first innings score of 83 and his maiden half-century in the second innings against Durham. jimbo jones
Much needed partnership after the two openers went early. Need to bat well tomorrow for what’s likely to be a draw.
jimbo jones
211-3 madsen just brought up his centrury, Hughes keeping him company on a good partnership. earlier Lace brought up his 50 but went soon after.

eddie
Notwithstanding the possibility of a calamitous collapse or a silly declaration, a draw and Derbyshire could well be top of the table tonight
eddie
Nailed-on draw now, with Derbyshire 325-3 at tea (Madsen 160*, Hughes 91*). That's a lead of 266.

If it had been next week, we would have gone to the game in Brizzle, but the fixtures did not work out favourably.
eddie
Madsen 200*, Hughes 106*, which equates to a lead of 322. Time for the declaration, I reckon, just to let the bowlers get the stiffness out of their legs. Edit: declared on 388-3. Match drawn.

jimbo jones
Madden showing his quality, but really pleased for Hughes, if he can keep to that level more often it will certainly help the strength of our batting line up.
