256-7 at stumps.

Pretty decent after having been inserted, but as with last week, we really need to see both sides have a dig before drawing any conclusion about the batting performance.

Unless Gloucestershire take early wickets tomorrow, a draw seems to be the likeliest result.

Derbyshire end day 3 on 97-2, which is a lead of 38. Tom Lace is on 48, to go with his first innings score of 83 and his maiden half-century in the second innings against Durham.

Notwithstanding the possibility of a calamitous collapse or a silly declaration, a draw and Derbyshire could well be top of the table tonight

Sounds a really good watch of a great batting partnership.

If it had been next week, we would have gone to the game in Brizzle, but the fixtures did not work out favourably.

Madsen 200*, Hughes 106*, which equates to a lead of 322.

Time for the declaration, I reckon, just to let the bowlers get the stiffness out of their legs.

Edit: declared on 388-3. Match drawn.

We'll be top of the league for months!

One month, at least. May 14 is the next round of matches. Now a similar surge in the one-day matches would be greatly appreciated.
