Being a bit pedantic but we sold the 1600 for Norwich.

Fair enough - it looked full (I was there) but I saw empty seats. 4 in front of me.

Where did you see 1600 sold? Last reported/quoted figure I could find was 1200. Total allocation was 1626.

You know, I'm not going Friday. I'm going home after work and watching on the telly because it will save me money and time and traffic. I could not give a poo what rating I get as a fan. And I couldn't give a poo what the attendance is. I'm watching the football, I'll spend £20 on a Chinese and be nice and warm. Probably watch a movie after.

Should I feel ashamed? Have I let my club down? Am I lesser man? Am I plastic fan?

Bore off. Who cares?

Yes you should feel ashamed, Leeds fans would have a Chinese an Indian and watch 2 movies.

I am an away member and not for one minute did I ever consider traveling to Leeds for this game whenever it was going to be, a whole variety of reasons but basically Leeds reap what they sow - leeds itself should be a power house in football terms being a big one city football club ( big as in city and surrounding area) but they are only in the minds of themselves so at least they are happy

Derby meanwhile is classed as a city but realistically it is a large town where a heck of a lot of its own supporters come from county of Derbyshire and credit to those that support the club

As a veteran of the 70's and someone who sings the Dambusters theme when pished, I will admit that the Dirties do have a huge fan base. Back in the day they were probably only 2nd to Man Utd for the number of fans spread around the country.

There used to be a coach from Burton to every Leeds game for example. Most towns in yarkshur have large amounts of Leeds fans...Donny whites are a prime example. Doncaster, while having its own football team, was always a hotbed of b elland roaders....

Given their huge fan base across yarkshur and the UK in general I'm sure they have a few half decent, reasonable fans who you could have a pint and a chat with.

In 45 + years following Derby, I've yet to meet one...

We all .............. hate Leeds.....

And I’m stuck at work with one hope we batter them tomorrow night ??

I’m off to my sisters to watch it tomorrow... plus side I get to see my sister and niece, downside... brother in law is one of them! I reckon we will do it though, they’ve not been great recently and have a few suspensions (dirty Leeds) and injuries

A little story from the 70s I was about 13 so in 1973 or roundabouts that year .

Derby played leads at home on a Saturday, the following Monday rumours started to circulate. Two school mates who both had older brothers that occasionally dabbled in the then common practice of football hooliganism. The two lads brothers had attended the match and after the game . Driven down Osmaston road ? in a mark 2 Cortina rather quickly, one held the passengers door open with his feet as they drove  very closely past the leads fans under escort back to Pear tree station. When they got to the other side of the police escort the door was SO buckled and bent it would NOT shut !

Wish I had a Mark 2 Cortina now !

There's stats and there's stats...

Leeds: 761,481 population

Derby: 270,468 population

and interestingly, for comparison...

Burnley: 81,548 population

It didn't seem that big when I went 27 years ago .  Has a third family moved there or has there been an amnesty on cousins in attics.
