My birthday is the 16th and it's a long-standing bone of contention for me that my birthday always seems to get taken over by Xmas stuff

This year?

Yes I have just been told that I'm going on the stupid Santa train at Peak Rail with the kids

Yes I have been told that I'm paying for it (£14 a ticket!!!!)

Yes there has been a half-hearted apology (it was the only day we could get tickets for...)

Yes I will be spending the whole day reminding everyone what a massive birthday sacrifice I am making for them

So yes, i WILL have another pint thanks

I've had one of the kids nativity plays on my birthday, this year is a change a scenery as the eldest has choir... ?

10th Dec for me. I love it as I consider that as the time to start celebrating Christmas.

Mind you, I was asked what I wanted for my birthday and I siad I don't need the usual shirts for work, socks etc so surprise me.

I don't know what my family think I am, but ended up with THE FOLLOWING.

1 x Gin (Rhubarb and ginger)

1 x Whisky

1 x Honey JD

1 x Brandy.

2 x Red wine.

A tool box

and a box of jelly babies.

Christmas is sorted.

Advent caldender rip off. Always want one, always disappointed.

In the last 3 years we've had a Chase Vodka and Gin one, last year a wine one, and now a cheaper gin one from Morrison's.

I don't think we'll bother next year, the novelty has worn off.

In fact, I think their days are numbered.
