In return, he cleaned the house top to bottom every week, on one of his two days off from a full time college course, so was more wages than pocket money. For the last 18 months, he's had a full time job, although not in the trade he studied in, so I called it pocket money as he was being paid it, while no longer in the servitude of his cruel parents. Since then I've probably given them more money back in helping them when they brought their own house. But isn't that just what parents do?
