Holmes today

Since Bryson got injured we've stopped playing two holding midfielders, and reverted to a more attacking line up with huddz as the only holding player. This gives a better platform for wilson, Holmes, mount etc.

Not going to judge him after one game.

I particularly enjoyed the second half when he played it both inside and outside and had several brilliant exchanges with Fozzie down the line and infield.

He’s got a nice touch, quick feet, not afraid to play it first time or go forward with his head up. He’s one of those easy moving fluid elastic players that are great to watch with the ball at their feet. If he can be convinced to be brave he’s going to be a real asset

He also won a header in the 2nd half that he had no right to win against a bloke twice his size! My grandson even asked me "how the hell did he do that"

Reminds me abit of Jamie Ward in that way, he was beating players in both the air and shoulder to shoulder that he had no right to. Certainly has the rough streak when needed as well as the skill.
